I keep hearing about birthing classes and people doing breathing for birth and pelvic floor exercises, but I haven't heard about anything like that from my midwife and haven't been doing anything. I'm now at 27 weeks...

I read epi-nos are good. Does anyone use anything like this?

Any recommendations v welcome, thank you :)

I was like this trying to plan a nice birthday doing breathing techniques but it all goes out the window because you'll never know what's gonna happen I practiced breathing techniques like I said for when it got to the pushing part and ended up having an emergency C-section I wish you all the luck though

Also ended up with a section but I did use an Aniball (similar to Epi No) in the run up and would do again. It was great for my pelvic floor regardless!

Do the Positive Birth Company Hypnobirthing course. It's all online and easy to digest.

It's a great entry point.

I recommend the Positive Birth book. It has lots of info about the birth process itself and what to expect. A birth plan can also help to learn about the different alternatives you have and what you'd like to happen in different scenarios. It's not meant to be something to follow religiously because labour can be unpredictable, but to me it gives me a sense of control over different options and like I prepared in advance. Good luck OP

Look up 'Spinning Babies' for physiological prep

And The Positive Birth Company for all things psychological.

When i had my first I just focused on deep breathing, listening to calming music which helped me relax, dilate and baby's head descend - until transition then all i could focus on was survival!

Best of luck OP Flowers
