Adenomyosis And pregnancy - any success?

I’m currently 7 weeks pregnant, had a scan and saw the heartbeat. Reassuring.
However, an ultrasound in Jan said “possible adenomyosis” which I’ve read can cause problems. I’ve had 5 miscarriages and just want this to be “the one”.
Has anyone had a successful pregnancy with this? I’m majorly stressing now.

Yes I have had 2 babies and caused no issues at all :) congratulations x

Thank you so much for your post. Everything I’ve read online has made me panic. Though it also says you can struggle to get pregnant with it which obviously hasn’t happened to me given my 7 pregnancies. I’m just so worried as it says it can cause preterm labour etc. on top of my miscarriages I’m not sure I could cope with that.
Were you a high risk pregnancy or did your consultant not seem to think it was an issue?

Totally understand your concerns and I'm sorry for your losses. No it didn't make me high risk, made no difference to my pregnancies :)

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the same outcome then and stop goggling as everything is so negative. I’m seeing my consultant next week, hopefully she will put my mind at ease.

I've also got both adenomyosis and endo and have been reassured by consultant that I'm not higher risk of miscarriage or other complications due to it.

Nemo145 · 27/06/2023 17:48

@JoyApple thank you for your response. Do you mind me asking, are you currently pregnant?

@Nemo145 yes currently pregnant at 20 weeks and had no problems thankfully in relation to bleeding or anything like that. I did get spotting in very early pregnancy but that cleared up quickly. I also have a fibroid too which has grown. I'm not worried about miscarriage or anything like that due to adenomyosis or endo. I was reassured multiple times that it makes no difference to the progress & success of the pregnancy and this from a very very experienced gyno consultant who specializes in endo and adeno 🙂

Thank you so much for your response @JoyApple
I’ll try not to be too anxious about it and see what my consultant says on Monday.

Hi there,

I’m almost 8w pregnant and have also been diagnosed with adenomyosis. I have a 2 yo but had a miscarriage last year, for unknown reasons. My obgyn is being very vague about the risk adeno brings to my pregnancy, so now I’m in a spiral of fear and nerves. Everything online about this condition is so pessimistic that it’s hard to not get caught up in it.

@Nemo145 how are you?? Hope everything is alright.

Nemo145 · 24/02/2024 14:45

@PeppyMintOtter
My rainbow baby was born in January. I had so many scans during my pregnancy for cervix length and growth and nothing was ever mentioned about adeno. To be honest I didn’t ask as I had enough other things to worry about.
I think being on progesterone from the day I got my positive test is what got this pregnancy to stick.
good luck

Hi everyone I know this post is old, but I'm currently 18weeks pregnant with Adenomyosis. I've found it quite frustrating so far in terms of getting any answers. I've been told my pregnancy is low risk, but at the same time the majority of medical professionals I've come across either don't know much about it or haven't even heard of it so I'm not instilled with confidence. Ive also stoped myself googling it now because it's really not helpful. Just trying to stay positive and keep the anxiety at bay.

Hi @HB28
I was told I did/ didn’t have it and it’s stressed me out. However, I had my baby boy in January. So if I do have it a successful pregnancy is possible.
During my pregnancy it was never mentioned and I had countless scans due to a previous preterm birth.

Hey, sorry to jump on but just wondering if it caused any complications during your labor or with weight if your baby?

Congratulations on your healthy boy! X

@foresttreewoods
I had to have a planned section but that was due to a previous emergency section.
my section was @ 37 weeks and he was 6lb.
