Has anyone had their baby at Whiston Hospital under consultant led care and can answer me some questions please? ❤️

Hi I'm not strictly consultant led but I have been seeing consultants at whiston. I'm 35 weeks :)

@NSJ28 How has your care been? I'm currently under my local hospital and during the pregnancy have been diagnosed with heart problems. I'm getting myself worried about having my daughter at the local hospital due to my heart problems, even though no one seems concerned. I was told if I wanted to transfer hospitals then Whiston would be the best option. I just don't know what they do different or have different there to my current hospital. I'm having an elective C-section. What have the consultants done for you? I've only had two appointments. I'm 34+4 at the moment so need to make a decision asap 😬

@rach971 it's been fine so far, the reason I started seeing consultants initially was purely due to my wish for an elective c-section however I then ended up with a low lying placenta so was seeing them for that, which then moved and my problem changed to a breech baby 🤣 so I have a scan next week to check baby's position and then seeing the consultant after the scan to see whether it'll still be an elective section or whether I'll need a section anyway due to position. Hopefully I'll come away with a section date either way. But yeah, all in all I've no complaints about anything! (Touch wood)

Hi, I'm 29 weeks and opted for Whiston hospital from the start, it's large university hospital, maternity ward is huge, can get lost lol. My local is Warrington hospital but wouldn't go there even for emergency. I'm under consultant care due to age, so far had one appointment, next at 32 weeks, they seem to be well organised, lots of nurses and other staff, although on day I went there was only one consultant so had to wait a bit longer. Definitely more pleasant and varying staff than community midwife, they just don't care, rush you and don't really see point seeing them every 3 weeks for nothing, but I go anyway. They misplaced my viral blood samples after booking appointment, had to repeat it at 16 weeks🙈. So now I'm mainly focused on hospital appointments.

I haven't had my baby at Whiston but 2 of my close friends have. They also had c-sections and have had really good experiences. Both looked after really well and happy with their care.
