I am wondering if all of your pregnancies were the same eg if you had same nausea in pregnancy no 1 and in pregnancy no 2/3 etc. ?

Yes identical pregnancies and almost identical births! Babies weighed the same weight too!

No sickness
Awful back and rib pain from 20 weeks
Induction at 37 weeks due to IUGR
Retained placenta both times
Babies both 5lb 3oz
Both girls!

My first two were the same symptoms wise and they were both girls. I had nausea for a few days if that, everything went smooth, craved sweet stuff. With my 3rd (a boy) I had nausea lasting a few weeks, needed medication to make me feel less sicky, craved savoury foods then ended up with gestational diabetes!
With this pregnancy I had nausea lasting a couple of weeks but only if I hadn't eaten. Mixed cravings of salty and sweet and this one is a girl. Also passed my first diabetes test with flying colours :) it's crazy how this one is a mix of the previous 3 in terms of symptoms!

All 3 of my pregnancies were different, all 3 births were different and all 3 babies were different.

First pregnancy -terrible nausea, constant vomiting, couldn't eat anything but plain carbs.
Breasts leaking like crazy from 18 weeks. Was induced and had healthy 10 lb 13 baby with no further interventions

Second pregnancy - no symptoms at all, felt great. Early misscarraige.

Third pregnancy (40 weeks today) - very light nausea, no food aversions, pelvic girdle pain in third trimester

tulipsunday · 20/06/2023 13:30

My first pregnancy was so easy in comparison to my current one. First was a boy don't know about this one yet but hoping I start to feel better now I am coming to the end of the first trimester.

Bramblecrumble22 · 20/06/2023 13:51

Similar, nearly no sickness, no food aversions. Differences, first one I craved oats and liquorice. second one I really enjoyed chicken and salmon. I don't enjoy eating anymore, just seems bland.
First one 36+5,girl second one 40+2 boy. Both around 7 pounds!

Vexxa · 20/06/2023 13:51

Third pregnancy currently, all three have been different.

CoalCraft · 20/06/2023 13:57

I had no nausea/ vomiting with DC1, mild nausea with DC2. Light spotting/bleeding throughout the first trimester with both. Mild Braxton-Hicks contractions from 19 weeks with DC1 that were continuous right up until premature birth at 33 weeks. Similar contractions intermittently from 23 weeks with DC2. Was given a progesterone pessary at that point and don't know whether it worked or it was just coincidence, but baby stayed in till 38 weeks.

Labour started very differently but quickly converged - I had very quick, easy labours with both.

Much less nausea and sickness in pregnancy #2 - a much easier pregnancy all round actually (physically) don't recall sore boobs, no PGP!

But did have gestational diabetes!

Both girls btw!

Totallyconfusedperson · 20/06/2023 14:02

Nope. First pregnancy - relatively smooth sailing, second pregnancy - loads of complications and hospital stays, nearly died…. So no…

PickledScrump · 20/06/2023 14:23

First I had nausea and sickness, second was an absolute breeze, textbook pregnancy and birth, currently pregnant with third and had nausea at the beginning and now getting sudden food aversions. So all 3 are different. All 3 are girls.

squirrelnutkins1 · 20/06/2023 14:26

Both different, second time way more symptoms for longer. First girl second boy x

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 20/06/2023 14:56

1st & 2nd pregnancies were plain sailing had morning sickness with both.. 3rd pregnancy from around 7weeks until 28weeks was constantly going for scans as had gushes of bright red bleeding (subchronic heamotomia was diagnosed eventually) 4th pregnancy from day 1 had horrible heartburn/acid reflux right up until delivery, had spotty skin, craved sweet things, GD & also polyhydraminos so therefore had to be induced due to the risks of going into spontaneous labour at home (all my other 3 I went into spontaneous labour with).. ALL 4 ARE BOYS!! 🤣 so yes different pregnancies I'd say.. x

Silverfoxlady · 20/06/2023 17:30

All five pregnancies were different. I had nausea for four of them, and only one without. Two with really bad nausea from 3 weeks, and one with mild nausea from 7 weeks. All the cravings were different, varying from prawn cocktail crisps and doughnuts with bad nausea, to baked potatoes, clementine crates, meat (Don’t eat because I hate the taste), and recently fish and really salty chips (completely new one for me as normally don’t eat this).

Dominikaa · 22/06/2023 11:40

Thanks for sharing. Fascinating how the same body deals differently with different pregnancies. I only just found out I am pregnant with 2nd one, had horrendous sickness for 6 weeks with 1st one to the point I was fainting from lack of sustenance. So wondering what this one will bring... My mum had same sickness in all 4 pregnancies and my sister had same thing with her pregnancies.

Completely different. First I had no nausea, second I had loads of nausea.

First birth was an induction that was pretty dreadful. Heart rate decelerated, born in poor condition. Second birth was an emergency c-section which turned out to be incredible. Baby born in good condition. 🙏

pinkorchid1 · 22/06/2023 16:33

Mine were very different. 1st pregnancy was easy with a bit of nausea until around 12 weeks. Second pregnancy had HG . It was awful . Also developed gallstones and had awful gallbladder attacks which at the time I thought was just horrendous heartburn! Finally got diagnosed when baby was around 8 months old and had gallbladder removed. Such a relief!!

pinkorchid1 · 22/06/2023 16:34

Oh and congratulations on your pregnancy! Hopefully this one will be easier for you x
