Hello,

I’m currently 7w 2d and I’m on Utrogestan progesterone pessaries due to a previous MMC and some very light brown “bleeding” in this pregnancy. I’m to insert two pessaries twice a day, two in the morning, two at night and have been doing so for around a week now.

Last night I was so exhausted that I fell asleep before inserting two for the night and this morning I’ve felt incredibly dizzy and light headed and after going for a wee, there was more brown blood / discharge on the toilet paper. Could the dizziness & brown just be due to missing one dose of the pessaries?

I’ve inserted after two today and will make sure not to miss another dose again but I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced symptoms or the return of any coloured discharge / bleeding after only missing one dose?

I was on progesterone pessaries due to IVF. When I was five-ish weeks pregnant I was convinced I had had a miscarriage cos there was lots of blood and cramping, so that night didn’t insert the two pessaries. I was also late inserting them in the morning, as it wasn’t until I called the clinic and they told me it might not be a miscarriage and to keep on with the drugs, that I then inserted them.

I was fine. The bleeding turned out to be a SCH. I personally don’t think one missed dose will matter. However I think you should call you doctor/EPU if you’re concerned about bleeding. With being so early in pregnancy it could just be normal bleeding, but best to check. I had such bad cramps in the first trimester, I appreciate how disconcerting anything like that feels. If you’re able to have an early viability scan that might be best.
