Did you put much thought into it beforehand or did you just go with the flow ? Heard someone say there will always be one more trip you could take, one more thing to do to the house, etc … always a reason to put it back. Just thought this would be interesting

We had been together 4 years, were settled in our careers, had bought a house and we were happy. We didn’t want to be ‘older’ parents so just went for it.

We got married, and bought a house we could happily raise children in. Been together 10 years and had enjoyed those 10 years to the full, we both decided that we wanted to expand our family and that it felt the right time in our relationship and lives. I'm not sure we felt "ready" just couldn't think of any reasons not to anymore. Quite honestly I don't think the feeling ready part ever happens. Dd is 8 months and I still don't feel ready 😂
One thing we did do was I worked two jobs for around a year before pregnancy and during pregnancy, so I could get two maternity pays while I was off. And I also saved £3000 to fund us for the last 3 months of my maternity (which is unpaid) so I could stay off for the whole year rather than the 9 months.

I felt too old to go out clubbing every weekend and didn't want to be an old granny... so in retrospect not a huge amount of thought 😂 was totally the right time for us though.

...should add we were not married, we were renting and I was on a fixed term contract. But the rest followed in time.

I’m pregnant with my third, I’m still not sure I’m “ready”. There’s never a perfect time, there’s always a reason not to do it, but you just have to make that leap
