Should I be worried at 19 weeks pregnant?

Hi,

Im a second time mum currently 19 weeks pregnant, so this isn’t my first rodeo. My 20 weeks scan is in 9 days. I have been feeling small movements for a few weeks but nothing for about three days now. I was hoping it’s just coz I’m so busy working full time and with a toddler that I just haven’t noticed them. However it’s my day off today and so far nothing again.

I know it’s still very early but I’m not going to lie, I am feeling a little worried. I know pregnancy units don’t class a pregnancy as viable til 24 weeks so I’m not sure ringing the unit will amount to any thing. Has anyone had this before in early pregnancy where they where feeling movements and they just stopped?

Don't worry. I had exactly this when I went to Jamaica 2 weeks ago. It was like the heat just made her sleepy, I landed back in the uk on Sunday, had my 20w scan on Monday and it's a healthy little girl.

I went for at least 5 days without feeling anything

Yeah it can be normal as baby is very small and has loads of room to tuck themselves away. That said, if you are feeling worried then you can always ring maternity triage for a chat and some reassurance. When I was pregnant the one in the hospital I went to was amazing and very happy to see women for some reassurance and listen in with doppler.

@VictoriaBlossom and @Nursemumma92. Thanks girls. I’ll try not to worry too much. My first was a small baby with an anterior placenta so I’m used to not feeling too much. But coz I was feeling this one so early and daily for it to just stop is unnerving. With my first right up to the end I really had to concentrate to feel her most days. X

I would absolutely contact your midwife / hospital to check this out. It's probably nothing at all but having felt movements, it's reasonable to expect to feel them regularly.

More than likely it's a change of position but it's always best to check any concern put.
