Based in UK. First pregnancy.
I have my booking appointment to meet my midwife next week, in a local children’s centre. I will be about 9 +4.
I still haven’t had any confirmation on first hospital scan though, is this normally arranged during the booking appointment? Worried I’ve missed a step or something.

I’m now considering an early private scan as I’m worried that my first nhs dating scan will be much later than 12weeks and I would love some reassurance that all is well with baby. Any advice/experience?

Normal. You get your scan arranged after booking appointment.

All sounds normal. You will be posted details of an appointment after booking or it will be booked by midwife during booking appointment. They just give you what's available and sometimes it's at very short notice in my experience which is quite awkward for 12 weeks scans for obvious reasons!

I'm not complaining before anyone moans Smile

Normal! My booking appointment was at 10+2, booked for my 12 week scan at 13+3. I took myself off for a private scan at 11 weeks because I'm impatient!

Scan will be arranged from your booking appointment. You've still plenty of time. The first scan is usually between 12-14 weeks. Don't stress as it's not good for you. Good luck x

I received the date for my nuchal scan before the date for my booking-in appointment. For my scan they scan said it takes place no earlier than 12 and no later than 14 weeks.

The booking appointment is to do all the paper work to book you in. Once in the system they'll then issue you with a scan date.

If you google 'NHS antenatal appointments' there's an NHS page that tells you every appointment, which week it's in and what it's for, if that puts your mind at ease about missing things

Thank you all for your replies. It’s such a strange/contactless system, I googled when I test positive and my local hospital simply say to creat an online account and that is all the communication/confirmation I’ve had, so I was concerned that I had done something wrong. I’m thinking I might book myself in for a private scan anyway if the date is more than 12weeks, I don’t think I can wait that long and I have been holding off telling people our news until I’ve had my first scan.

Based on your dates and the fact you have the midwife appointment next week I don't think you need to be concerned.
