Hi I'm farrah I'm 17 expecting my first in December, I'm financially struggling and in need off free maternity clothes.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Ask your midwife to signpost you to any local support services - there will probably be agencies supporting young mums in your area.

Go on local free cycle pages on Facebook and ask. Also Facebook marketplace.

Hey Farah, I actually didn't get anything special, just stayed in leggings and T shirts I already had, you might be OK in what you already own, assuming you've got a few baggy tees :)

farrah17 · 14/06/2023 12:14

I dont own any leggings as I lost quite a lot off my stuff moving around I have baggy tees just no leggings and my pants are becoming really tight

Check out charity shops. Or NCT sales.

And to be honest, some standard clothes are so generously cut that most people don't need special maternity clothes.

If you have trousers with zips, you can use an elastic hair bobble hooked around the button and through the button hole to extend the waistband. A baggy T-shirt will hide the gap!

Best to look on local pages, we have one dedicated to people giving away free items in our area and people can comment on items they need

On Facebook try searching for your town/city plus “mums” and the Mum support groups should come up. Loads of people give away their maternity clothes for free.

Also sounds like you need a chat with your midwife about additional support that is available to Young Mums. There might be a Baby Bank nearby which can help you with things like cots and pushchairs.
