As the question says really, currently pregnant and have our abroad wedding booked for when baby will 4 and a half months old, it was already booked before we we knew we're expecting, and it can't be cancelled or moved, just want some one to tell me that it's going to be okay and any advice welcome 😂
Hotel is all inclusive for 2 weeks and there are indoor baby areas as we had thought about family coming with children.

I am going to go again the trend but it really really depends on your baby.

If you contact your hotel in advance. You might find they have several things ie cot so no need to buy or take your own.
Take own cot sheet is a tip.

We got married when our youngest was almost five months old, she was definitely easier than our three year old Grin

Our baby napped in the shade, loved going for walks, she was dressed in either a summer dress or just a vest and nappy. She slept well at night and as I was still breastfeeding it was easy. She did have drinks of water from a bottle and she tried her first taste of icecream (wouldn't have done that with my first but with subsequent children I got a bit more laid back about it all Grin)

What better time to have your first ice cream than at mum and dads wedding…. That’s super cute!

I’m sure no ill came to her from having an ice cream earlier than DC2 😂

@Harriet669 you'll be fine :) like someone else said the problem becomes when they start crawling. I traveled with my little one at 3 months and at 12 months from New Zealand to the uk. 3 months old easy. Trying to get a 11 month old to sit still and amuse ,nightmare 🙉
I reccomend bottle/ breast feeding on take off and landing to help there ears adjust.
Congratulations and good luck! 🥰🍀

It's easier when they aren't mobile. Breastfeeding helps as no equipment, no sterilising etc.

WooWooWinnie · 10/06/2023 19:06

We went on a 2 week holiday to USA when our baby had just turned 5 months old. We panicked about logistics - ended up bottle feeding so we found the planning re formula, sterilising etc quite stressful. But actually it was fine and easier than taking her now she’s 13 months! She slept in the pushchair or the sling, she didn’t eat, she didn’t crawl so was just happy to come along with whatever we were doing. She was easily amused - a great age!

Aww thank you, I'm getting emotional remembering it all now.
Our youngest, the icecream eater, is now 26 and I'm a grandma. I can confirm no harm was caused by the early introduction of icecream Grin she turned out just fine.

I agree. DS was a none sleeping fuss pot at this age who was desperate to move and hated being contained in anything. I was absolutely exhausted. Going away with him at 2.5 was much easier. Feel I’m in the minority looking at this thread though!

Harriet669 · 10/06/2023 23:28

@VivaVivaa I think your the minority just as I'm asking for some positive reassurance as it's happening either way 😂😂 if that makes sense! So just wanted someone to tell me it's doable 😂

Thanks everyone for your replies! It's made us feel a lot better!

My Ds never slept at 4 months. He still is an awful sleeper at 3 years old!

But for travel, still easier at 4 months as at least you have a non sleeper who can be carried or pushed around by someone, and just drinks milk.
Compared with 3 year old who doesn’t sleep, runs through airport, needs entertainment on plane, then leaps into a swimming pool, and eats only bananas on holiday for 2 weeks!

It will be fine. Ps we also got married when Ds was 2 years. And that was fine also.
