Can you hear baby's heart beat in your own chest?

I know this is a very weird question hehe, but here we go anyway.

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow morning in the hospital (I am already 13 weeks pregnant though)

I feel quite anxious about it, so I took out my doppler. I thought I could reassure myself by searching and listening to the heartbeat.

In the end, common sense prevailed.
I know it was more than likely that I wouldn't find it and I would end up panicking.

So I didn't search for baby's heartbeat.

Instead, I placed the doppler on my chest (basically between my boobs), because I wanted to listen to my own heartbeat.

I instantly heard a galloping sound ranging between 130-140 according to my doppler.

Could this be the baby's heartbeat? But why would it be audible in my chest?

I was resting at the time, so my own heartbeat shouldn't be that fast.

I am also relatively fit and healthy.

Thanks for any advice 😂 I know this might seem like a crazy question, but I am not a medical professional, so I don't know

No.
At that stage, it’s hard to find in the uterus with a Doppler even if you are in the right place!
you might have bought a fake Doppler though? I have heard there are some that make a heartbeat noise wherever you place them.

No, it is not the babies heartbeat. There is no chance at all of picking that up in your chest.

No you definitely can't, especially when it's that early so baby is no where near your heart. It must be picking up something else.

It's not a fake doppler, I used it in my previous pregnancies and it doesn't always make a heartbeat sound.

That's why I was surprised, but of course you are right, it can't possibly be the baby's heartbeat
