Worried about lack of/fluctuation of symptoms

Hey, not really sure what I’m going to get out of posting this as I think I have read every post on here and still worrying.

I will be roughly 9 weeks tomorrow, had a scan 7 weeks exactly and was measuring 6+6 with a heartbeat but helped my anxiety for about a day! Found out on Christmas Eve last year I had a MMC and had no idea so making this pregnancy a lot worse.

Before my scan I didn’t have a lot of symptoms, before I tested positive I had heartburn so that was my first sign, that comes and goes but I think what I eat also changes that, my boobs did kind of hurt but nothing compared to last time, and just about 6 weeks I started to feel quite sick but this stopped 2 days before my scan so didn’t last long.

Today I have no symptoms at all, and been mostly like this since my scan. My boob tenderness/heaviness comes and goes but again nothing major and even at that I need to squeeze my boobs to feel if they hurt, heartburn/indigestion is also coming & going and I wouldn’t say I am overly tired.

I have a scan tomorrow and expecting to be told I’ve had another MMC which has happened round about my last scan.

Just wondering if anyone else has ever had anything similar and had a positive outcome so I can try stay at least a bit positive?

TIA!

@VictoriaBlossom congrats & sorry for your loss. I am praying that is the case for me as well! Been up since 3am worrying about the scan and it’s not until this afternoon! Thanks

I am currently pregnant with dc4 following a mmc, I’m now 36 weeks so on the final countdown but I remember this anxiety from earlier on in this pregnancy well! I had severe morning sickness but that didn’t show up until around 8 weeks, I remember pressing on my
boobs to check if they still hurt as much as the day before and worrying If they didn’t and all manner of symptom checking and stressing!
I am not sure if it will help you or hinder, but I found that tommys had a lot of good resources online that I found reassuring (I am a statistics nerd and they have lots of stats on there!)
A friend said to me - unfortunately it is out of our control what happens, but remember, today you are pregnant, we never know what tomorrow brings but for now try to relax!
best of luck!

@Januarybby hope your scan goes well today. Xx

@VictoriaBlossom @Namechangedforthis60 thank you, it’s reassuring to hear from other people who had very few / no symptoms.
you’re right, we just take it a day at a time xx

Januarybby · 09/06/2023 08:50

@Namechangedforthis60 thank you. I am more worried as I did have some symptoms & now nothing at all. But you’re right either way there’s nothing I can do. Thanks x

@Pen40 thank you x

@Januarybby
@Pen40
All I can say is feed your body and baby with good vitamins
I use ones from Cytoplan called pregnaplan, they aren't full of fillers like all the others we buy over the counter
Keep in good spirits and try to not worry because it only affects you. If baby is there, they're gonna fight through. That's why we have the super power of being women

I have my 20 week scan on Monday as I'm currently in Jamaica, I think the hardest part for me whilst pregnant is the loneliness.
We didn't tell anyone apart from my mum til I was past 12 weeks, and I found a lot of comfort on the October babies group. Because it gave me the opportunity to talk to so many other ladies in the same position.
Try it x

Strawberry06 · 09/06/2023 14:01

@VictoriaBlossom I take Cytoplan pregnaplan too! My husband also takes the male fertility support too. I take iron supplements from them too.

I totally get you on the loneliness, the only person we've told is my Mum. Husband hasn't told his Mum as we are visiting them in August and would rather just turn up to surprise her after which we'll have had 12 week scan. Its so hard keeping it secret. I'm part of a 35+ group on Facebook and that really helps me.

VictoriaBlossom · 09/06/2023 14:17

@Strawberry06 I do wonder if those supplements have been part of the reason I've been symptomless though.
I'm glad that you're surrounding yourself with online people to talk to. I'm really lucky because when I turned 12 weeks I told my best friend (my boyfriend is also best friends with her husband) and she then told me she was 5 weeks pregnant. Of which I was sworn to secrecy of course

But having an actual friend to talk to from 12 weeks was so amazing.

You will get there, and if you do want someone to bounce weird thoughts from, message me. I've been very much on my own with my thoughts as I'm quite holistic, wanting a home birth and a doula 😂

Strawberry06 · 09/06/2023 14:23

@VictoriaBlossom why do you think they cause lack of symptoms? I was taking them when I had a MMC in January and didn't really have symptoms then either! (Apart from sore boobs) I lost baby at 6 weeks though whether I would have gone on to have symptoms I cant say.

I'd love a homebirth and doula but unfortunately I tested for Strep B before I found out I was pregnant so I'll have to have a drip more than likely :(

VictoriaBlossom · 09/06/2023 14:27

@Strawberry06 because the people I know are all sick as dogs and I did a bit of research in to supplements and read a paper that taking potassium and iodine have been highlighted to keep morning sickness at bay.
In the end I have not bothered with a doula, but at the baby show I found a stand called "the naked doula" which is an app and flash cards, and it's literally enlightened everything I need.
Doula wanted £2k and I felt it was ridiculous.

I'd definitely recommend the naked doula app/subscription! It's amazing

Pen40 · 09/06/2023 15:13

@Januarybby amazing news, I was just checking the post to see if you had updated it! So pleased for you x

Whyisitdarkalready · 09/06/2023 15:31

Fantastic news!!! Now, try to relax and enjoy. It just shows that symptoms aren't always reliable. Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy xx

Strawberry06 · 09/06/2023 15:35

@Whyisitdarkalready that's what I was thinking. This thread will be of huge value to many I'm sure!

Januarybby · 09/06/2023 15:51

100%! They need to remove lack of symptoms as a miscarriage symptom as they really don’t stand for anything and I haven’t believed that till I’ve found out for myself.

Thank yous all so much xx

Only a few weeks until the end of the first trimester. After that you're unlikely to miscarry. Also I think if you have a viable baby now, which you do, your miscarriage odd are much better than they were yesterday, even in this trimester. Try to relax if you can.
