Pumping whilst in early pregnancy

I am 6 weeks pregnant.
I am still breastfeeding my 10 month baby. At times I still need to pump to keep supply up. I am not changing what I've been doing for months now.
At 12 months, my baby can move on to cows milk, but I'd still like to continue breastfeeding where I can.

Is there anything I should be concerned about with new pregnancy? If my supplies starts to lower, I do not want to 'force' my body to something it is doing for new baby .

Surprised you need to pump to keep supply up when baby is 10 months. Your supply should really be regulated. Mine used to go up and down depending on how much baby was eating.

There isn't any raised risk unless you're exclusively breastfeeding (first 6 months) and particularly lots of night feeds which are obviously exhausting

I continued to breastfeed my 1.5 year old when I was pregnant and unfortunately misscarraige but there isn't supposed to be a correlation at that point, just unfortunate coincidence. My milk didn't change during it.

Also surprised at needing to pump to keep
supply up at 10m.

I’d pack in the pumping as it’s a pita. At 10 months your baby will either feed more if your supply is low, or make it up with solids.

I’d continue with bf and solids, ditch the pumping, and let your baby guide you.

sometimes babies self-wean during the next pregnancy, sometimes they don’t. If you are happy to keep going if your baby wants to then just keep to your bf routine and see how it goes.

It's my understanding that the only reason pumping is discouraged in pregnancy is because there's a theoretical risk of it causing womb cramps which could in theory trigger a miscarriage. I think this is extremely unlikely. Tandem feeding isn't unusual and feeding through pregnancy is also a very normal thing to do.

The benefits to your 10mo outweigh a very small theoretical risk of cramping.

Im 13 weeks pregnant and I'm still breast feeding my 17 month old son... although I'm only breast feeding him 3 times a day

Great that you're hoping to keep feeding number 1, perhaps you are needing to pump when you have time away from little one, are you back at work?
As others have said, no harm in continuing what you've been doing already. Just make sure you are looking after yourself in terms of nutrition, eat plenty of calcium and iron rich foods whilst your body is supporting 2 little ones!

I continued breastfeeding until I was about 20 weeks in last pregnancy. She fed a lot but my supply still dropped, I don't think I was even producing milk anymore, she was more doing it for comfort, but she was older than yours (she was 15 months when I stopped) so I wasnt concerned. When I stopped I started giving her a bottle of formula In the morning and at bedtime because she wouldn't drink cows milk. Maybe have a talk with your midwife and see what they say.
