Which Tea is actually safe during pregnancy (1st trimester)

From googling, I've concluded that only water, peppermint, ginger and decaf teas are completely safe.
I bought a lovely yogi tea (Alkaline herbs) https://www.yogitea.com/en/products/yogi-tea/alkaline-herbs/ but then read that the citral lemongrass can cause birth defects. And all my other teas have liquorice root in them (small amounts). No-where on the internet does it say how much constitutes a danger, as these teas are all blends so no one herb concentrated.
However, the NHS website says that herbals teas , one or two a day, are probably safe. Also, I found a pregnancy tea that contains lemongrass.
Has any-one found herbals teas that are safe? Or drunk these teas anyway.

Rooibos?
Green and black tea are OK so long as you don't consume more than the recommended level of caffeine

Tea is fine if you follow the NHS guidelines on amounts.

Might be worth having a read of Emily Oster's book 'Expecting Better' as it goes into the science behind why the advice you can't have x, or y - usually it's just lack of reasearch.

I have researched this as well and I could only find that only the herbal teas peppermint and ginger is safe. Even Camomile is classed as a uterine stimulant, which is so annoying as I love to have a cup at night.

Green tea and black tea is safe, and I have been drinking two green teas a day to keep me going at work. That is within the 100mg caffeine limit.

If you find out if any other tea is safe then I am interested!

I've drank chamomille tea every night during my entire pregnancy and I delivered a healthy baby at 40 weeks (chamomille tea is supposed to cause contractions).

Now also worried because I've been drinking chicory coffee (100percent chicory), a cup a day, and now I find out it can cause uterine contractions. But I can imagine half of Eastern Europe drinks it when pregnant...

I avoided my beloved yogi teas during pregnancy because a lot of the ones I love had licorice root in. It's not entirely clear what roots they use so it was a pain. Tbh I didn't find one I could drink by yogi.

I usually had peppermint. I did like vanilla rooibos or homemade decaf chai (most premade chai you can't have) and normal decaf tea and coffee.

Raspberry leaf tea is fine I think

Chicory coffee is nice. I would personally cut it out for now if you can 🙂

Yes peppermint and ginger are the only ones out of the herbal teas. I love my herbal teas so really miss having them but there’s so many ingredients that are iffy, and I just think it’s not worth the risk. I got some pregnancy teas from a company called nipper & co but they just tasted similar to peppermint tea tbh. Chicory and liquorice root are big nos and they seem to be in almost everything.
