Hi everyone 😊

I had a miscarriage in March when I was 7 weeks and I am pregnant again, I am nearly 7 weeks but I feel so sick all the time and I keep getting hot and cold flushes all day and just generally feel awful, I never had this with my first (shes nearly 18 months)

I just wondered if anyone had any advice to help with the sickness ? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank u x

sorry you’re poorly. Have you tried the usual things like biscuits in bed, accupuncture wrist bands? Apple slices also helped me. If it’s really bad you can request some medication from the doctors

I'm 19 week and for the first 14 I felt sick constantly. Didn't find anything to stop it but eating helped 🥴 🐷

I hope it gets better for you too x

Thank you both for your reply I will give that a try.
Eating seems to make it worse but obviously I can't not eat anything because I'm also starving all the time but as soon as I eat I instantly regret it 🤢

Keep eating constantly, even if its just little bits. if u let yourself go even slightly hungry your sickness will get worse. I found salty things were helpful for me. as well as cold food like hard cheese, fruit etc. Don't worry about eating too healthy either just eat things you can keep down. Sorry OP it really is the worst but it will hopefully get better in a few weeks.

I'm currently 15 weeks and have had hyperemesis since 5 weeks, (started at 7 weeks with my daughter) thankfully the sickness is just in the morning now but the nausea is all day and worse at night. I have a 19 month old and work 4 days a week so I'm knackered this time round.

For me the only thing I've been able to eat to try and help is apples and watermelon, sometimes. I will mid morning fancy a sandwich but half hour after eating it I'm nauseous again and ready to puke.

I know food is not appetising right now but try and eat little bits often as it does help in the short term. I couldn't stand ginger last time or this time, chewing gum also helps sometimes. It's just trial and error with what helps you, unfortunately there is no quick fix.

Hang in there is does get easier. Xx

I could have written that exact post a few weeks ago. My mum was exactly the same and I was counting down the days to around 12 weeks. However I am now 10 weeks and it's starting to ease and actually wanting to eat again.

It totally sucks and it's so annoying that not everyone can know what's going on but it does get better. Hopefully soon. But until then just eat whatever you can keep down. No matter how unhealthy and you will get through it.

Also ice lollies were a saviour for me!!! Gets something in you but not too heavy.

I used to have rhubarb and custard hard boiled sweets and Murray mints. They helped with the nausea a bit but they are not the healthiest choice. Strangely I can’t eat them now I’m not pregnant as they make me feel sick!

I found sucking on hard boiled sweets to be a life saver, especially if I couldn't stomach actual food.
Fox's mints did very well out if me for the first 15 weeks - sickness subsided generally after that.

I was the same with my 2nd. First was a lot easier. 2nd time no of them normal things worked. Felt sick 24/7 for about 4 months. The only things that helped were sleep (hard with a toddler) and giving up trying to eat anything with flavour. All I ate was plain pasta and white bread. I lost almost 3/4 of a stone but it wasn't fun. I was convinced it was twins or something was wrong. Nothing like my first pregnancy. But all was fine. I'm sorry you are feeling like this. It's so miserable. 💐

I am in exactly the same boat down to the miscarriage in March and 7 weeks pregnant now with horrendous sickness!

I haven't got much advice, I can't really stomach any proper food so I am surviving on cornflakes, toast and crisps at the moment, but just wanted to send some solidarity! I never got to the point of feeling so I'll when I had the miscarriage so in a strange way I am sort of enjoying it in the brief moments I don't feel like I'm going to pass out
