High HCG levels and worrying tests

Hi, I am really concerned about molar pregnancy. I'm currently 10+4 with donor Ivf. At 4+3 my hcg was 2386 when the normal range for 4 weeks is 10-700. 5 weeks is 217-8245 but we did a 5day frozen transfer on the 1st April so I know the exact dates.

I've also got a tsh rate of 0.02 showing subclinical hyperthyroidism and three consecutive urine tests showing protein levels but no infection.

All this makes me super worried. Does anyone have any advice? This is our 5th Ivf and first after our miscarriage in 2020 that ended at 8weeks.

Triplets! Huge congratulations!

Hope you’re feeling okay and not too shocked. What a wonderful surprise after everything you’ve been through.

dreamonlucid · 28/05/2023 11:20

Oh wow!!

dreamonlucid · 28/05/2023 11:23

I'm past IVF and baby times mine are all grown up, so I wonder if you mind me asking.

With the adopted embryos and now triplets, will they all be from the same couple? So will the babies be siblings, generically.

Its fascinating and amazing so happy for you.

Crazycat53 · 28/05/2023 11:23

Congratulations!

allthecats1982 · 28/05/2023 11:25

@dreamonlucid the triplets are all full siblings to each other. The parents are the same for each of them. Unfortunately we cannot have our own now and all our biological embryos became losses.

allthecats1982 · 28/05/2023 14:21

Congratulations. I knew it!! I've got twins and felt exactly as you described in the early days. I just felt it inappropriate to say anything in your situation. Brilliant news xxxx

Hello, I've just found out I am expecting a baby after doing IVF. I am just 5 weeks and had my beta on Monday and it was positive. The first result was very positive and at around 1300. I did the test again yesterday and the results have more than quadrupled in 3 days. They went from 1300 to 5700. Has anyone been through something similar and what was the outcome?

My consultant asked me to do a scan on Monday because she has concerns that the embryo split ( I only transferred one embryo though) and I might be expecting twins.

allthecats1982 · 01/03/2024 19:28

@Francesmalin it's very possible the embryo split and it's a twin blessing. Mine were very high with the triplets but when I looked at my old file they weren't dissimilar to my levels with my son and he was a single baby. By the time I was five weeks along my singleton hcg levels were higher than the triplets.

Good luck and hopefully it's twin news

@allthecats1982 that is reassuring! A part from the possibility of having twins, you think I shouldn't worry about the fact the levels of hcg quadrupled instead of doubling or tripling in a short space of time?

It could also be the embryo is developing ahead of time! 🤷🏻‍♀️
