Hi all, new here! I'm 23 + 6 today, and they've just found I've got mild polyhydramnios. Can anyone else shed some light on if you went on to have normal pregnancies and births? I've been advised there's a small chance I could experience preterm labour 👀😳

I had this with DC3. He was born at 37 weeks exactly and was 8lb, although all 3 of my DC were born between 37 and 38 weeks so don't think this was a huge factor in his early birth although he was the biggest by over 1lb. They weren't sure if he had an issue with swallowing so had a tube down his throat within 10 mins of birth to check all was good, thankfully it was. My waters were popped by the doctors and I was given hormones to make my contractions come on quicker as they warned me I was at risk of cord prolapse due to the excess waters. Speak to your midwife if you have any concerns though, they should be able to guide you and ease any concerns you may have.

I had this, was discovered at around 34 weeks I think. I was told that if my waters broke I'd have to go straight to hospital due to risk of cord prolapse, I was induced in the end at 39 weeks due to that, age, projected size of baby and group strep b, so had my waters broken for me in theatre so that they could go straight to c section if the cord prolapsed, but it wasn't needed and I went back to the labour ward and had the drip instead. All was fine though, just had a massive bump!

I had this with one of my babies. I had my waters broken in hospital and was induced at 39 weeks but that was only the day after it was diagnosed. I was massive so it should have been diagnosed earlier, I think it was just missed.

Other than having my waters broken and having the drip I had a normal labour and delivery and a healthy baby.

I would say just take it easy because you’ll be carrying around a heavier bump so factor that into what your expectations are around what you should / could be comfortably doing as the pregnancy progresses and rest as much as you can.

I had it in my last 2 pregnancies, so severely that I was scanned twice a week to see if the fluid needed draining (as it puts extra pressure on the cervix/ can cause early labour).

I had elcs as advised by my consultant, due to the risk of cord prolapse.

Had this with 2nd baby.
Went overdue. When my waters went it was absolutely spectacular!
