I'm only 30 weeks, so plenty of time. But my baby is lying breach. What should I be doing to encourage it to turn?

I would really like it to turn as its feet hammer my pelvis and side, and its head hurts my ribs LOL

Thanks for this. Have had a good look at the site. Hoepfully with some focus I can get the baby in the best position. both DDs were anterior, but head down and I had natural (induced) births with both and no additional interventions e.g. ventouse etc. Thought that was all I had to think about this time!!

Moxibustion is over 70% effective.

The 'Camel Walk' is a yoga thing, otherwise known as pelvic scoops.

Basically one hand on pelvic bone and one on bottom of spine, take small steps whilst scooping your pelvis.

Looks ridiculous but I did it religiously and DS turned 2 days before he was born (a month early though).

At 37 weeks my DD was still breach, absolutley did not want to have a C section so looked into my options.
I used a type of acupressure called Moxibustion, basically a cigar like tube of herbs etc that you light and place over points on your little toes, very bizarre, but bloody worked, she turned that night, much to my delight but obvious discomfort. please ensure you talk to your midwife first though, its still early days for you, most don't turn til 36 weeks babe

I will sit tight (leaning forwards LOL) and hope that the issue resolves itself! Thanks all for your support!

my friend;s breech/ oblique baby just turned at 35 weeks.. had given her all the info re moxibustion and all the other tips, but he just turned !

Tangle · 22/02/2008 21:24

Have they done any more studies on moxibustion? The only one I found when DD was breech was quite small, and found that the 70% success rate was for women that started by 32 weeks (c/w about 50% for women that didn't use moxa at all).

I went for the "relax until 36 weeks" approach, DD hadn't turned and suddenly they were talking about booking a CS. We switched to IM's and DD finally arrived at 41+3 at home and foot first
