Hi all, I’m pregnant with my second and only 5 weeks. I’ve been feeling unwell for 2-3 weeks already and just been given cyclizine then metclopramide to try but they only work for a couple of hours and I feel so sick again. Please help. I’m going to speak to my GP again tomorrow.

Try and snack constantly as much as you can. Keep nuts or raisins handy. Eating slowly and steadily was the only thing that helped for me.

I also kept a potential sick bowl in my handbag at all times, just in case I got caught short out and about. Thankfully never needed it but the worry I might suddenly throw up on the train was real.

I had terrible sickness with my first pregnancy and now this one.

I found nibbling on crackers helped me to feel more human. I had a constant supply in my bag!

i feel for you. I’ve had it too. Lots of rest. Keep sipping water. I’ve found apple slices have given me energy. Lots of food all day.

Try acupressure wristbands that are used for travel sickness. Some women find they help with pregnancy nausea

Hi, I've developed awful pregnancy sickness that is only now giving away - at 20 weeks!

Best advice I can offer is take your anti-sickness meds before you get sick (you know you will, so may as well), don't let yourself get hungry so snack every few hours and avoid foods that can agitate your stomach (like spicy food).

I also found that the easiest way to deal with feeling sick was to just be sick and get over with it. At one point I decided that I will vomit regardless of what I do so I could at least give myself small relief from nausea...so I stopped trying to hold it in...granted, I had to be near toilet at all times, but it got me through those weeks :(

No words of of wisdom just my empathy.

In this pregnancy I’ve found anti sickness stops the actual sickness but not the rest of the sensations around vomiting. Everything else continues.

I found gaviscon helped slightly.. and constant snacking on carbs.

I’m 4 weeks pregnant with DC2 now so just waiting for the nausea to develop in the next few weeks 😭

I have an electrode one called Emeterm which is helping a bit

Thank you. You I think proactive medication is better than taking it only when you feel terrible. I have a phobia of sickness so I’ve never been able to make myself sick to get it over with, get in to such a state about it.

Congrats on your pregnancy!

Congrats! It feels horribly inevitable doesn’t it. I’m only 5 weeks and been feeling sick since conception which is why I kept testing. I felt sick before I tested positive! Hoping you manage to get through it. It’s so horrible x

No tips but I'm also gluten free, also have a sick phobia and also 5 weeks pregnant 😂

I've def been feeling nausea the last few days, I have cyclizine and I've been taking it when I feel awful in the mornings... as the weeks go on i might take it regularly! See how it goes

Apples sound so good right now! Which is weird as I'm not usually a fan of them and I am having real issues finding any food I fancy, apart from potatoes 😂
