I'm 37 weeks pregnant and tend to find the mornings quite difficult as I feel stiff and clicky until about 10/15 mins of walking around and it eases off. This morning was a whole new thing, I could barely get out of bed! My pelvis, my tail bone is so sore, clicks when I'm walking and hurts when sitting to rock back and forth. Is this SPD? I'm assuming there's not really any point of raising this with my midwife at this late stage now.

Yes it sounds like SPD.

Don't rock back and forth! If it hurts don't do it. It is worse first thing in the morning as you've been stationary for so long overnight.

I had these symptoms at this stage and my pregnancy was absolutely fine. I would raise it with your midwife just for peace of mind. I never raised it with mine as I didn't know it was a thing!

I found this advice useful though from mumsnet!

Avoid triggers as much as you can. Sit down to get dressed, and avoid heavy lifting.

Use a heating pad or ice pack to the pubic bone area. If you use a heating pad, don’t leave it on for more than 10 minutes at a time, since longer can can raise your baby’s temperature. (You can safely cycle the pad on and off every 10 minutes.)

Try going for a walk, doing some yoga or stretching if it doesn't hurt. Any small movements will help ease it.

Try massage.

Pain relief is possible in pregnancy - ask your midwife is the pain is severe.

This is temporary, so hang on in there!

@Pr1mr0se thanks so much, that is massively informative! I'm going to try out your suggestions! It's much appreciated xxx

That's exactly what it sounds like.
I'm 35 weeks and had it for c1.5-2 months now, took me ages for the physio referral to come through but I'm now on crutches etc..

Best thing I've found is doing everything evenly and minimally. So for example always keeping your knees together if rolling over, twisting to get out of a car, getting out of a chair etc.. Heat I was told doesn't really do anything so can't comment on that but I was advised to use ice for 15-20 minute intervals on the worst area if needed. Pillow between the knees when lying to keep the hips aligned properly also helps me. And I was told not to spend too much time standing/sitting, but to keep up a daily gentle routine of walking each day.

I was given a selection of exercises to complete, but I don't think it's right to share those incase they aggravate your trigger.
