When is best to have covid vaccine in pregnancy?

Hello. I am 15 weeks pregnant and last had a covid booster at the end of January. I've received a message saying I can book in for my next one. I'm not sure if all pregnant women get offered the vaccine around now or if it's because I qualify for other reasons (I have a repeat prescription for steroids, but have just finished those).

Anyway, I was wondering if it's better to wait until nearer autumn so that would also offer protection for the newborn baby? I work in a school so am surrounded by germy children all day.

Anyone know about this kind of stuff?

I’m assuming it’s for other reasons as pregnant women aren’t routinely offered covid boosters anymore. Your best bet will be to ask your midwife.

i'd go for now. 2nd trimester is past the risky early stages but the baby is not pressing so much on your lungs / guts etc

I would ask your midwife. I haven't been offered a booster in my current pregnancy at all. My midwife suggested that they no longer offer it. I am 31 weeks.

Thanks everyone. I did ask my midwife generally about the vaccine when at my booking in appt and she said pregnant women will be offered it (but I did think maybe later on). I too thought it had stopped being offered. I'm seeing her next week so I can ask her then.

Thanks again.

Just ask midwife, i would have guessed 2nd trimester when you get the other jabs.

I was going to then..but i caught it instead 😂😂
