I personally dont get on with buggy boards, I dont have exceptionally long legs but do walk quite quickly and therfore find I keep bashing my shins on the thing. The other thing I found is even without older child on the board as you go up and down curbs it jolts the whole buggy waking the LO.

i would do what you are saying with the p and t adnd then when she doesnt need the seat you could always get a buggy board after

dd1 was just 2 when dd2 came along I had a double pram which I used just twice!! so I sold it (I had been given it)

I used a sling for the baby and the buggy if needs be for DD1 or the travel system pram for dd2 and dd1 sat on the handlebars!! So had she been a bit bigger I would have gone buggy board and that's it

Yes, as suggested I think I need a shopping trolley! Does anyone know if the buggy boards are ok to use with a phil and teds? Or is it just too much weight? Think I might get quite muscly (sp?) if I walk around with 3 piled onto a pram. My DC2 is also a bit wild and hates being strapped in, but can't be relied on to walk a lot. I think that whatever I decide on I will regret after a couple of weeks and wish I'd gone for something else!

bigboydidit - can't remember which brand of buggy board I have. They can be a pain if you are going up and down lots of kerbs, which I hadn't though of before I used it, but are generally good. I also find it annoying when I am walking with the board 'held up' when not in use, and the dusty wheels rub against my thighs and make my clothes dirty! You have to walk with your bum sticking out a bit to avoid this.

My DD was 2.8 when DS was born. Buggy board all the way. DS was in sling for a few months, then the buggy board did us fine. Would have been an awful lot of extra expense to have bought a double buggy. But DD was an earlyish and very enthusiastic walker.

Had no regrets about this. Although thinking back, am now amazed to realise that we didn't force DS to give up his buggy until he was about a year older than DD. Poor little PFB got short-changed, whilse second born was wheeled around like a little prince long after she'd had to give it up!
