For 4 nights I’ve only had 3 hours sleep, I have a 2.5 year old so can’t really rest in the day…

any practical advice on how to get back to sleep? I feel like once I wake I completely loose all my tiredness…

so far I’ve tried: white noise, herbal tea and lavender oil on pillow

I’ve not slept well for weeks but it’s suddenly got so much worse. So worried how I’ll be able to give birth if I’m so sleep deprived now 😫

TIA

I can't help but solidarity. I'm 35 weeks and I've been awake since two am. Achey hips, heartburn, needing the toilet... I'm looking forward to giving birth because even getting up with a newborn, I should be able to get better quality sleep! This is my second too.

😫😫😫 just awful! I’m not even sure what’s waking me!? I feel so sick too, absolutely over it! Can’t do many more weeks of this 😅
although tbf my son slept SO badly as a newborn I’m not expecting it to improve for me 🤣 good luck with everything xx

Oh no - maybe you could try ASMR. I sometimes watch that to send me to sleep if I can’t drift off myself. Warning some of the videos are a bit weird but if you type asmr gentle whispering in YouTube you should get videos from a creator called Maria and hers are really good and what ASMR should be. Fingers crossed you get some rest! X

Different reason for my insomnia (meno), please don't judge me on this.

I used Audible, and discovered Matt Hancocks lockdown diaries send me off to sleep within 10 minutes. Matt's gentle whispering in my ear about his pandemic blunders does the trick every time.

DP is getting a bit jealous though, as I am starting to really enjoy my nighttime routine with Mr H.

Speak to your midwife for advice. Staying off caffeine all day and eating small amount before bed helped me. However chronic insomnia is fairly normal at this stage. I'd get up around 1am and put a film on or some classical music which seemed to help a little. Get up and do something you enjoy. Consider it your 'me time' before the baby arrives. Napping for a couple of hours and then being awake for a while wont' do you or your labour prospects any harm.
