Any one have a solution to help with insomnia. Im a back sleeper. Someone who suffers with insomnia before pregnancy and anxiety. And a light sleeper. 🤦‍♀️😪
I physically can not get to sleep on my side at all. Can only try my left as broken collar bone years ago stops me trying the right side. But the shoulder and hip pain is unbearable. Ive tried the u shape pregnancy pillow. The wedge one and nothing helps. Pillow between the knees and under bump and behind me. Nope. Nothing can get me to drift over on my side. I eventually give up after about 2 hours and roll onto my back with a pillow below my bum. Which ive used from day 1 pregnant to stop the pull of laying completley flat. I dont get any dizzy spells or dont feel unwell at all on my back 🤷‍♀️ But i know over 28 weeks they dnt advise this. But if its the only way to get a couple of hours sleep between bathroom trips im taking it. After my bathroom trip i start on the side again and the whole horrible process starts again.
Its getting to the point i now dread and hate bedtime.
Any tips that work pleaseee anyone 😭😴

Back sleeper here too! Although I have found with a pregnancy pillow in front and behind me that I can sleep on my side and occasionally roll slightly to the back but not fully with the pillow behind stopping me.
Not sure if you've tried propping lots of pillows at an angle under your back so you're like reclined on your back rather than flat on your back? I've done this a few times and imagine it's a bit better than flat on your back for the blood vessel thing as it's almost sat upright.

Solidarity. It's grim isn't it! I saw an NHS physio last month for my PGP, and she suggested a few things if you can't sleep on your sides.
One: put a duvet/ extra soft mattress topper under your sheet to make it a bit softer.
Two: sleeping on your back is OK if you're propped up about 60 degrees or more. (That's what I had to resort to in my last pregnancy)

What I sometimes resort to is side sleeping but putting pillows behind me so I'm tilted sleeping on my side. Seems to take some pressure off the sides.

Thank you both. Need to try pillows under my back. I tried 2 pillows upright last night to try and prop myslef up but that only lead to a sore neck 🫣 got a few hours sleep but woke sore neck and back. Its horrible. Ive had a dream pregnancy so far but this is a killer 😬😪
