Pressure in vagina 15 weeks

I’m 15+2 weeks pregnant and starting today I’ve had this pressure feeling in my vagina. The only way I can think to describe it is it’s like when you have a tampon in but you haven’t pushed it far enough in so you can feel it there. Sorry if tmi! Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing something similar or has in previous pregnancies?

I had similar. Felt like a minor prolapse. It was followed by me not being able to pee properly, followed by no pee at all. This is a medical emergency and if it happens to you, get to A&E asap. You'll need a catheter. Which I had previously dreaded but didn't actually feel.
Sorry to be dramatic and hopefully it doesn't end up like that for you.
The doctor explained that sometimes at that point (14/15 weeks) in a pregnancy the womb doesn't rise up in the pelvic area and puts pressure on the vaginal canal and the ureter (?) The ureter is squashed and becomes flat like tagliatelle rather than round like spaghetti so the pee can't come out.
Two days in hospital with a catheter to let my bladder and ureter rest and I had no more problems.
Best of luck OP

  • I know you don't pee from your vagina 😂 Just that the prolapse and urinary retention were both caused by the womb not rising out of my pelvic bowl at the appropriate point in my pregnancy

Thanks for your response @Flyfodder! I'll definitely monitor my ability to pee now!

Do you remember how long it was between the feeling starting and not being able to pee?

It was maybe a week with the feeling in my v. Then another week of trying to pee and it taking a while. Before one night no pee at all
