Hiya, I'm nearly 7 weeks and for the past 2 I've had severe cramping, it varies pain wise but they're all day usually, paracetamol doesn't budge it and the hot water bottle makes me overheat. I've had spotting over the past week as well. I'm being sick up to 5 times a day and to be honest it's taking everything out of me, especially being so early on. I was scanned today and the ultrasound showed no issues or reason for the bleeding but I'm kind of at a loss. Does anyone have any tips or ways to manage it a bit, the cramps are more the part I'm really struggling with. I'm taking omeprazole and certrizine but they're not helping much either. TIA :)

Hi @rxbbiesmith so sorry to hear you're suffering.

I had Hyperemesis from 7 weeks and bleeding lightly also, they put me on progesterone until 16 weeks which stopped the bleeds as like you, they couldn't find a cause for it.

Ondansetron has been the best antisickness for my combined with cyclizine.

I remember for the first 3 months I had what I would describe as bad period pains, the midwife said it was just everything stretching and moving.

Might be worth asking for progesterone to stop the bleeding x

The cramps could also be the uterus stretching and shifting. I had pains very intense with this. Hopefully it'll ease with time. A warm shower helped and doing some stretching to get the muscles loose. Also had a few pregnancy massages in a local spa which was lush!

Be very careful using a hot water bottle (I'm sure you've looked into this - just would feel bad without mentioning). You can have a warm not hot bath with plain epsom salts. Magnesium can also help with aches. Perhaps some magnesium supplements and food like spinach, berries, nuts, unrefined grains and plenty of water.

I found water made me sick in pregnancy so I would have weak diluted squash.

Sorry you're going through this OP - it will get better with time. I also found going swimming really helped with the cramps ❤️

@DeflatedAgain they said that's most likely what it is but it's honestly knocking me I'll it's 24/7. Unfortunately I don't have a bath just a wet room but I'm gonna try a wee warm shower see if it helps any I really appreciate the help thank u so much. Waters the only thing I can really manage to be sick diluting juice just kinda burns 😂
