19 Weeks - No Movement

Hi guys, so just looking for a bit of reassurance really!

A couple of weeks ago at 17 weeks, 1 day I swear I felt what I thought was a flutter as it was a little bubbly/fluttery feeling in my lower abdomen where the baby is, it happened just after I sneezed which I thought might have woke bub, and it was nothing like gas or anything I've felt before. The next day I had my midwife appointment too and she found a strong heartbeat on the doppler and said he was moving a lot.

Fast forward to today though, I am now 19 weeks and haven't felt a single thing since! No bubbles, so swishes, no flutters, only cramps and pains that I assume are my ligaments stretching.

Has anyone gone through anything similar and could there be a reasonable answer like my baby or placenta have moved in the last couple weeks?

Just looking for any advice/personal experiences to stop me going insane, as my 20 week scan isn't till late next week, and after 3 previous missed miscarriages and no children it's hard not to worry!!

Hi, l have also started having sporadic fluttering. Along with lots of aches and pains.
I wouldn't worry, l didn't have any real movements until 23-24 weeks.

However, l completely understand you worry with your history like you said.

My scan for 20 weeks is also next week.

I have a feeling we are probably around the same due date.

It's reasonable not to feel consistent movements at this stage in pregnancy, so try and keep yourself busy and distracted if you can to try and take your mind off things

With my first pregnancy I didn't feel anything until 19 weeks and then there was no real pattern until 28 weeks. You won't feel them a huge amount either to start with.

I'm now 17+3 with my second pregnancy and haven't felt anything.

I would definitely try not to worry it's still very early for movements :)

Also depends where your placenta is to.

Try not to worry, it is still fairly early for movements and baby is small enough to move around enough in your uterus and not be felt. It also depends on the position of your placenta too- an anterior placenta is associated with feeling movement later.
Totally understand the worry though, was a nervous wreck when pregnant with my children.
Chat to your midwife about any concerns you have but sounds like all is normal.
All the best x

Thanks all for the replies, I think my biggest worry was I wouldn't say I was having sporadic movements, I literally just had the 1 and then nothing since :(

And I have spoken to my midwife who has also said the same about it being completely normal not to feel movements till later on with the baby being so small, which is reassuring, but then that left me wondering how I was able to feel it at 17 weeks and not at 19 when they should be a little bigger?

Britishdesigirl how exciting, when are you due? I'm September 18th! x
