I have had my c section date through and my c section pre op appointment through. What happens at the pre op appointment? Just wondering if it’s something my partner needs to get time off work for? He’s not entitled to any paternity leave (changed jobs) so wants his annual leave to be saved for when baby is coming and here if possible.

Definitely don’t waste it. Will be brief and just taking stats really

He’s not entitled to paternity leave but is entitled to annual leave?

@Beetrootlover82 thank you 😊 I’ll go alone.

Yep you’re entitled to annual leave as soon as you start a job (as you accrue it) but he had to be in his job for 6 months before my due date to be entitled to paternity leave and we are 2.5 weeks shy of this so he’s not entitled to it he has to use his annual leave instead. He can only have a week too as the other manager is already booked off the following week so he’s having to split his time off up with a weeks gap in between his 2 weeks off.

I had to have a few swans taken for covid and mrsa, had a monitoring and few stats. That's about it. I went alone and definitely didn't need anyone with me.

Swabs not swans 🤣

Nonverbalmum · 21/04/2023 19:51

It was swabs, a handful of leaflets, signing a consent form and discussion about if I wanted my tubes tied at the same time (worth considering in advance). I went on my own 😊

At mine an anaesthetist did a talk about their role in theatre, then a midwife did a talk about their role. We then had an individual meeting the with anaesthetist who ran through medical history etc. Then an individual meeting with the midwife who gave us some meds to take home and the time to come to hospital. All in all was there about 1.5 hours and my husband did come but would've been okay without him.
Oh and a swab for MRSA
