How to keep pregnancy secret on hen do

Hi,
Currently 10 weeks pregnant and due to go on a hen weekend. Myself and my partner do not want to announce the pregnancy yet.
Does anyone have any genius ideas of how I can disguise the fact that I am not drinking?
xx

They will guess that you are pregnant if you are not drinking and you usually do. Make an excuse if you like but they will guess.

I was in this situation a few weeks back. I confided in one close friend on the hen and she did an excellent job covering for me. We went in a round together and she got me vodka n 7up without the vodka and mock tails.I did get a few glasses of processo and take a sip every now and again.

I went to my best friends 30th in November when I was early in pregnancy. Sent DH to the bar for all my drinks, luckily they had mocktails and alcohol free Prosecco. Nobody noticed I wasn’t drinking. After a few hours I moved onto lime and soda and just said I was rehydrating, everyone else was too drunk to care or notice what happened after. If anyone does buy you an alcoholic drink just pretend to drink it for a bit and then go to the loo and chuck it away.
It was a lot easier than I thought, literally nobody is paying attention to what you’re drinking, it just feels like they are because you know you have a secret you’re hiding.
I wouldn’t use an excuse in advance, it’s too obvious.

Fake sips

I used to drink soda water in wine glass with a tiny splash of apple juice in it looks like wine

I like the non alcoholic gin and swap bottles idea if it's self catering

I guess it depends how the hen is going to be with alcohol. Are they going to be lining up shots or doing drinking games where you can’t hide? Or are you going to be going to the bar to get your drinks?

I agree about not saying anything and trying to hide it. Put drink down toilet, drink tonic or soda water and pretend it’s alcoholic.

maybe say you are preparing for TTC and therefore have both agreed to not drink.

Dh stopped drinking altogether as he had to take amitriptyline for migraine prevention. He was advised by his GP not to drink as it can make you very drowsy on the meds. The man probably only drank a glass of wine a week so it was hardly an imposition. You could use that, far better than the old anti-biotics lie. And congratulations Flowers

I’ve just finished a course of Metronidazole antibiotics. If you drink on them they mimic the effects of the medications they give alcoholics to stop them drinking - even a small amount of alcohol will make you violently ill. Can you pretend you’re on a course of those if people want specifics? You can’t drink for 48 hours after either, so nobody has to see you take a pill. My 48 hours is up tonight (whoop) after two months of antibiotics so I’m waiting for the sun to be above the yard arm…

Just say you have a dodgy stomach, no one will want to know more. That covers up morning sickness and early nights too.
