I am just 4.5 weeks pregnant. Very early I know, but I just wanted to share my situation. I had a mc in November after 15w. I already have 2dd 8 and 13 and are 35 years old.

I have just made my first appointment with my Doctor, who wants to see me at 6 weeks. So I am now in a two week wait for this first appointment, feeling very nervous and hoping for no more complications. (First MC was due to poor development, nothing unusual, I have been told). It is just my age and the fact that I have had a MC that puts me at risk from another.

The trouble is, is that I have an awful low tummy ache and feel a bit down with it.

I just wondered if there were any other newly qualified people on this topic.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi,
It is normal to feel like you do in your situation.
At age 34 and 35 I had 2 mc and at age 37 I had a 10 pounds healthy baby boy. He is now 3.5 and I am 10 weeks pregnant. I am now worried because I stopped feeling dizzy and of course there is always the idea of another mc in the back of my mind. As you see we all worry and it is normal.
Keep calm and think positive.

I've just moved over too. I am struggling a bit that I was "special" for my first and had a lot of early blood tests and an ultrasound at 7 weeks. Now I'm on the "normal" track and the MW doesn't want to see me until I'm 10 weeks. It seems like such a long time to wait.
I really want to tell them that I'm different because we're so infertile and that makes my baby more special and I need an early ultrasound again, but I know that that's not rational. After all, all babies are special (it's just that mine are more-so ).
I'm sorry to hear about your MC. But there is a really really good chance that it was a one-off and this little one will be OK. I'm getting low tummy-ache too, it's normal and OK.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I feel a similar way.

are you pregnant mrsTM? ??

MrsTittleMouse · 15/02/2008 17:47

Hello lulumama
Yes! I'm due on the 19th October. I spend my time worrying about having a MC (because it is so unlikely that I will conceive again, and even if I do it will involve a lot of money and effort) and worrying that I'll have to give birth (you know all about that one). So poor DH is spending all his time trying to cheer me up.
When I went to the GP I mentioned the perineum concerns and suggested a trip to the consultant again, he was agreeable, but suggested that I wait until I see the MW at 10 weeks and she will arrange it. It's perfectly logical - even if I have to wait the maximum 13 weeks, I'll only be 23 weeks, so plenty of time to discuss options. I'm just finding it a bit hard at the moment.

Good luck Twinkle. You may find some support from those who are also pg after miscarriage on here:

I don't have personal experience but I know the waiting for each stage and hoping everything is ok only too well. I am finding pg more worrying than I expected.

I hope everything works out for you.

Twinklewishes · 19/02/2008 12:10

Hi, to all.

Just had a "booking" appointment with my G.P. They just filled a book in to get me started. I asked about my low pains, but they thought it was a urine infection, but nothing showed up. They still think it is normal, but I had no examination.

They have not asked to see me until I am 12 weeks. I think that is so long since I had a miscarriage at 15w. When you have been through that, every day that you remain pregnant is a blessing. My DH has made me another appointment with a Private Doctor through my medical insurance (I do not live in England), who wants to see me at 6 weeks. So this is much better as I now have dual care. Both my Doctors have scan machines in their rooms and so everytime I am to see the Doctor, which should be every month alternately with a Midwife in between, I should have a scan. But like you say, you need a lot of support when you already have had a miscarriage or when you were lucky to conceive in the first place.

Anyway, MrsTittleMouse, I too have a due date of the 19th October I hope all goes well for you too. Please keep in touch. The funny thing is, is that my sister is due the same week and it is also my birthday. My mum says she will be extra busy (we hope).

Take care everyone

Hello all. Had a faint blue line this morning my self. Feel all secretive and worried about how I will cope. Have 2 DDs 4 and 1.5.

well done all for getting this far.

Twinklewishes · 19/02/2008 12:40

Hi Flum. I know just how you feel. I tested last monday (I was 3 days late) and got a +++. I decided not to tell DH until his Birthday on Valentines Day after I had done another test. It went really well and made his day. He loved the card with a "pee stick" attatched. (He actually thought it was a bookmark .

I didn't realise that we have the same due date. You are younger than me though, so no more comments about your "age". I'm really glad that you're getting the care that you need now. I'll see the midwife on the 25th of March which seems like a AGE away. I don't have a history of MC though, and the GP/MW don't even know about the infertility, so I can see why I'm treated as "normal".
