Hi all! I'm 23 weeks with first baby and have developed terribly itchy skin around my thighs / back of knees / elbows. It started about three weeks ago but has just got worse, I can barely sleep!

Looking for advice / tips / support from anyone who has experienced the same or found a good way to manage it and reduce symptoms?

GP advised I speak to midwife, midwife not concerned 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks!

@JE17 I'm only 23 weeks I genuinely don't think I'll survive until baby comes like this 😢

I can't even get dressed 😢 or sleep 🤯

@Babykingincoming oh darling I can’t tell you how much heart goes out to you. All I can say is that I’ve been there and it’s hard for people to understand how truly awful this is. I’m 25 weeks now and have been at the phase of zero sleep for weeks at a time, getting dressed being excruciating and basically living going from my morning shower and moisturise routine to my evening bath and moisturise routine. I’ve even at the lowest points considered awful things and the idea of being pregnant again fills me with dread.

All I can say is that in my case at least it comes and goes, and this won’t last forever. Please keep going to your GP and get steriods and change or increase the strength if they don’t work. They really take the edge off and are the only this that allowed my skin to start to heal. Every time I’ve flair I start with steriods and then continue to heal with Epaderm (at night) or this Neurogenia cream (https://www.boots.com/neutrogena-norwegian-formula-deep-moistuire-body-lotion-for-sensitive-skin-400ml-10145958) that I use in the day as it absorbs quickly and is a bit easier to get clothes on. I eventually wean off the steroids and hope my skin can hold off until the next flair.
You will survive this ❤️
