It’s a 6 week scan one…

I’ve been to EPU for a scan today, due to being on cyclogest because of recurrent miscarriage.
By my LMP I would be 6+2.

Sonographer could see a sac, and a yolk sac. No fetal pole. There was also a bleed near the sac, it looked big on screen, she said 2cm. She said measured more like 5 and a half weeks. Cervix looked nice and closed. I’m to go back in 10 days to see if anything’s progressing, if I haven’t miscarried by then. I haven’t had any bleeding, I have had quite a lot of lower back ache which I don’t remember in other pregnancies. She said keep taking the cyclogest.

I could have ovulated a bit later, but should I expect the worst? I’m not a newbie to miscarriage and I feel I can cope with whatever happens, at least it’s early. Just looking for others similar experiences?

@DaisyMay25 you could ask your GP. I don’t think there’s a blanket rule, different doctors say different things. The consultant that prescribed me the cyclogest advised an early scan because sometimes it could mask the symptoms of for example an ectopic pregnancy. I passed this on to my GP who was happy to book me an early scan at the local early pregnancy unit. However, the nurses at the unit did say to me that usually they don’t scan unless you’re in pain or bleeding.
