Have a look here

I have loved it the moment I saw it, especially after the thread on newborns where people are able to take a side off their cot and park it next to the bed to sleep next to baby. Trouble is I do not have room to do that, and can only just fit a Moses basket next to my side of the bed on a stand.

I Do not have money to waste though. Partner says it sounds good and looks good as a travel bed too. Anyone got one? Or think its a bad/good idea?

Cheers xx

We just put the Moses basket on our bed! It was inbetween us, so that it couldn't roll off. Resulted in many jokes "I thought we said we wouldn't let this baby come between us".
I did like not having to get out of bed to breastfeed. Even a few steps seemed like a long way in those early days....

I was just about to buy this two nights ago, but to be honest changed my mind because I remember how soon it was the my DS started to wriggle and I was worried new baby would not feel secure and snug. Plus I've been searching for an alternative to the moses basket here in Germany (we gave ours away-silly me) so I don't have to be stuck in bed 24/7 with baby. I want to be able to sit downstairs and be normal, and don't think this would offer the proper support or safety on the floor (toddler and cat wandering around).
I do still think it's a very nifty idea, it just didn't fit my criteria in the end. Hope that helps.

hi pfj

my brother and sil have got this one here and say it works really well for cosleeping and cheaper than the snuggle. my aunt put my cousin to sleep in a drawer for his first 3 months! your baby won't mind as long as s/he gets milk and cuddles!

I think it looks great, I first saw one when DD was about 4 weeks and was gutted I'd not seen them whilst pg. If you have a baby that doesn't wriggle to much you'll get a lot of use out of it but if you have a mover then probably not. DS was in a cot at 4 weeks as he moved so much but my little lady was stll in the moses basket at 3 months cos she was so calm. They both spent a lot of time in with us for the first few weeks and it is a worry, I couldn't ever get off properly which is the last thing you need when breastfeeding every 2 hours! I think if we'd had this I'd have got to sleep properly. If we decide to have no3 then I'm going to get one.

It looks ok if you are particularly worried about the risks of having the baby in bed with you, although for night time feeds baby would have to come out of it - I used a moses basket next to the bed and fed my DS lying on my side so I could sleep. He would drop off too snuggled up to me and it was lovely but i know some people advise against co-sleeping.. I think it may turn out to be a bit of a pain having a box thing in bed with you all the time though...

On the travel bed idea, it doesnt look as if it is big enough to last long, so you would end up having to buy a travel cot fairly soon.

If it is a choice between this and a moses basket then I would go for the basket and stand as you can use it to move baby out of the bed when you want to and its a lot more practical for moving round the house.
