Hi I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant and really struggling. I just want my baby to hurry up and come out 😂.. does anybody know ways of bringing labour on please? Thanks.

But you're not even at term yet, so it's a bit early to be trying to get baby out! I know the end is hard, but you could have up to 5 weeks still to go so I really wouldn't torture yourself but just accept that it could still be a while. I tried all the old wives tales to try to get DD out, but sure enough, she came of her own accord at 41+4 and not a moment sooner. Currently 30 weeks with DC2, and I know he/she will come whenever they want to and it's only a waste of my time worrying about it

You're not full term yet - baby is best where it is.

Chill out.

Sorry, that's meant to say you could have 7 weeks left (typo). You're close, but you're really not at the end yet and definitely not at the point of wanting/needing baby out

I understand that am not full term yet but this is my third child and he's weighing 6 pound witch is bigger then both my previous children just really struggling I asked for help and any remedies not people getting aggy!! I have spoke to my midwife and am due to get the sweep next week so it's perfectly safe for me to start trying any thing to help me

Growth scans aren't always accurate. I had a them fortnightly with my last and he was estimated to weigh 6lb at birth but weighed 8lb13oz. My friend got induced early and her baby was apparently measuring at 9lb 15 and he was born 7lb 3oz. I honestly wouldn't count of it being accurate.

turnthebiglightoff · 04/04/2023 17:18

You've no way of knowing he weighs 6lb - which is a below average weight - and if he was born now there's every chance he might need some help. The end of pregnancy is hard for everyone but you need to wait for 5 weeks. And if a midwife is giving you a sweep at 36 weeks - unless there's a medical reason - they are very irresponsible.

Be careful OP. I had DD4 at 35 weeks and she weighed a whopping 6lbs 5 oz but apparently unbeknown to everyone her lungs were immature. Due to her healthy weight nobody took any notice when I said I could hear her wheezing - they said she'd probably swallowed some mucous on the way out. She ended up spending most of her first two years in hospital and has suffered from asthma and breathing problems all her life which has now been put down to her prematurity. I hope you get a safe and quick delivery and enjoy your lovely new arrival once it's here.

Bennyboy94 · 04/04/2023 17:38

Yes there is medical reasons that's why I'm getting started off early. I had low PAPP-A and other problems with my placenta. I totally agree with you about the weight not being accurate on my growth scans. I do genuinely believe that he is around this weight as its the biggest I've been in all of my pregnancies before.

If there are genuine medical reasons to induce labour at 35 weeks then the hospital would be admitting you and putting you on a drip/doing a section. As it is you appear to want to try and bring on labour yourself before you reach full term. If your midwife agrees you should deliver early (and really is happy to give you a sweep to try and get a baby born before it is full term), then go and ask her for any 'tips'. I'm not being "aggy" as you put it, but what with your drip feeding of info and the lack of any understandable reason as to why you need to deliver a pre-term baby, I think my initial response still stands as sensible advice to someone who is 35 weeks pregnant
