Hey folks, I had my 2nd DD around 5.5 months ago. Today I went to get my coil fitted and did the pregnancy test before to check I’m not preg. The test bloody came up with 2 lines after 3 mins. The line soon faded after a few minutes of me panicking but it was definitely there and definitely pink. I asked for them to do another and yep same again.

I asked for bloods to be done and get results soon.

So could I actually be preg?

I’ve had one period since having my little girl and that was now 35 days ago so technically I’m 4 days late. I’ve only DTD a couple of times and used a bloody condom. I had very light spotting 6 days ago. My cm is nothing like it has been before AF and my sense of smell is INSANE (first sign I was preg with DD2).

Anyone got any ideas or words of wisdom? 🄺🄺

My friend got pregnant 3 months pp so it does happen. Definitely a faint line there. How would you feel if it is positive?

IScreamAtMichaelangelos · 29/03/2023 18:04

Don't worry, even if you are pregnant it will hopefully all be OK. I was 4.5 months postpartum when I conceived DS2! Bit full on there for a few years but we all made it.

Scottishskifun · 29/03/2023 18:08

Go and get a first response pregnancy test (frer) or clear blue early digital test that will be better then the ones you have posted

MrsE95 · 29/03/2023 18:31

@VladimirVsVolodymyr hi yeah a friend from work did similar whilst breastfeeding too. I’m feeling pretty terrified, I’ve suffered pretty bad with my postpartum mental health with DD2, the thought of having another is terrifying. 🄺

Thank you @Scottishskifun and @IScreamAtMichaelangelos

Yep. Happened to me too. I now have "Irish Twins". Couldn't believe I was that daft.

VladimirVsVolodymyr · 29/03/2023 20:22

@MrsE95 try not to panic for now until the bloods come back. Talk to your other half about possible scenarios and how to proceed. Whatever you decide will be what is right for you and your family. My friend was only back to work for a month (came back at 10 months) and before off on mat leave shin and there is 12 months between her two.
Look after yourself.x

Well the blood results are in, I am indeed pregnant. šŸ™ˆšŸ™ˆšŸ™ˆ

I have 14 months between my first 2 so pregnant again when dd1 was the same age as your dd2?

They are really close still at 19 and 20 now.
I don't know what is right for you but wishing you all the best. It can be just fine if its what you want.

mishmased · 30/03/2023 23:51

Hugs @MrsE95 deep breaths. How're you feeling? Have a chat with your DH. Do you have family support around? Take time to explore your options and even talk to your GP and HV.

Amybelle88 · 30/03/2023 23:56

11 months between my two šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜‚ although my daughter was 2 weeks early (like that makes a differencešŸ˜‚)

I shit myself and panicked and shit myself again, but honestly, it was fine - had its moments like everything does but I promise it's not as hard as what you may think.

They're 6 and 7 now and we wouldn't have had it any other way ā¤ļø

DannyZukosSmile · 30/03/2023 23:59

Had mine close together too. 12 months and 2 weeks apart. Would never have had it any other way. They are super close, and can't remember a life without each other. Congratulations! Smile

'Irish Twins?' Really? Hmm

It's a phrase which started in the 1800s for children less then 1 year apart so it's been around a long time the poster didn't make it up!

It’s a phrase that is no longer seen as acceptable.
I doubt there person using it here realised but it’s not a phrase that should be used

I think you’ve missed the point.

Tomselleckhaskindeyes · 31/03/2023 11:19

I have twins and it was a shock. When you have two close in age they have a play mate so it can be easier eventually!!

No I get it can be deemed offensive but its still a common phrase!
My friend has a sibling 11 months and her two children are 12 months apart and she uses the phrase regularly......and is Irish.

Ok, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt
You know it is offensive but you still use it
Some black people use the N word, doesn’t mean you should

Aren't those COVID tests?

AngelDelightUK · 31/03/2023 22:21

How are you feeling about it all OP?

Tr1skel1on · 31/03/2023 22:26

I fell pregnant when DC 1 was nearly 6mo. The first 2 years were REALLY hard, but after that it's been great.

They are now doing A levels etc and are loving being so close
