Any experts in private antenatal screening?

Does anyone have any recommendations for providers for antenatal screenings in the Greater London area?
also, what screening tests do you recommend? I understand NIPT to be the most common, but are there others that are better to have as well or instead?
I was hoping to get some advice from
my midwife but she suggested I do my own research. I’m finding it all a bit of a minefield!

Are you going to go private for the whole thing, or just extra tests? NIPT is good, and you can get private scans to check on things - NHS do these at 12 and 20 weeks but you can get more if you want to go privately / want the peace of mind - but they don't look for anything beyond what the NHS looks for, it's just if you want more of them. I think most people would just get NIPT and extra scans, is there something you've been looking at in particular?

Fetal Medicine Centre - very expert, they do a package with a scan and the Harmony test (which I believe is basically the same as the NIPT). I’m not sure if they do the Harmony test on its own.

Thank you @Bablond Just planning on going private for the screenings and I already had a viability scan privately.
We already have one child with some additional needs and it’s nothing that can be tested for in the womb but I guess I just want all the facts that are available for our next child because of how hectic are lives currently are looking after DC1. Not that I’d probably do anything with the information but it would be nice to know everything possible if that makes sense.

@Peanutbutter7 I'm not sure if he operates in central London but I recommend Prof Ranjit Akolekar . He is absolutely extraordinary. His NHS practice has some amazing rate of detecting issues in pregnancy. I saw him privately as part of other treatment I was doing but I think he also has his own private practice. Google him! I had 12 and 20 week scans with him. I was skeptical too about the point of additional scans as NHS sonographers are great but he took it to a whole new level. Best of luck xxx

In that case you can get the NIPT first, and you could do the NHS 12 and 20 week scans and then afterwards also follow up with private versions for someone to double check everything. You can do another growth scan around 29 weeks for then to check the last bits of brain growth etc. The other person that suggested foetal medicine centre is a good place to start to see what they offer, even if it's not where you go in the end.

Harmony is same as NIPT, there are only a few different kinds of nipt and it doesn't matter where you do it

Thanks so much @Janefx40 just going to look him up now.
thanks @Bablond that’s really helpful.

hello

I would like to get a private scan to check for ectopic pregnancy, any recommendations near Islington in London for private health clinics?

Thank you

I would suggest Fetal Medical Centre on Harley St too - very experienced and professional. If you just want the NIPT blood test or a scan to check on baby, there are cheaper chain places all across London but they're not as specialist.

St Thomas do private scans and they're done by really experienced staff who also work in the NHS - I'd go for them as they'll have more experience with high risk patients etc (for if you want extra scans, doesn't matter where you do nipt/harmony, they send off to same place)
