This is my first pregnancy and I worry about my baby a lot because I love her so much but I am 33 weeks and she doesn’t react to sound on my baby books it says she can hear and could hear for awhile now I play her different types of music to see what she might like or react to but she doesn’t really move around to them or even my voice but then again she has been a very lazy baby she only really moves when I am sitting, or during the night she loves to keep me awake with all her wriggling and early in the morning

You need to stop reading all of that rubbish and just relax. Enjoy your pregnancy, it a shame you're ruining it worrying about absolutely nothing. Your baby is perfectly fine.

You sound quite anxious, have you spoken to your medical team about that?

For what it's worth, one of my children is deaf and an absolute joy and living a wonderful life. We've all learned sign language and our lives have been enriched by the deaf community.

Even if something is 'wrong' with your baby- it really isn't the end of the world. Try not to live in fear, and trust that you will manage because of how much you love your baby.

How old are you, OP?
You sound very young. Do you have any support or anyone you can talk to in real life to help you? A parent maybe?

The only time mine ever reacted to sound in the womb was when I went to see Def Leppard in concert at 7 months pregnant. He was not a fan! Other than that, I don't recall him responding to external sounds at all really. His hearing is absolutely fine.

Best thing you can do is throw that baby book away. It just causing you unnecessary worry and stress.

I mean this kindly but if you are worrying about this you are going to really find it hard when she is born. You must find a way to not worry about things like this because you will be massively overwhelmed try and find ways to deal with this now before she is here. Enjoy your pregnancy and stop overthinking so much

@Spockrates in my baby books in says they might kick to certain sounds or even become startled to a sudden sound or that they might react when you read them stories but I haven’t experienced her reacting to a sound yet I think because this is my first pregnancy everything worries me I’ve never loved something as much as I love this baby already I just worry about her so much

My advice - take those books out to a bonfire. They sound insane. See someone for your anxiety. Your baby will have a newborn hearing test. There is no test or indication in any way involving movement in the womb, that’s just crazy.
