Morning sickness tips

Please, please hit me with your best tips for managing morning sickness. I seem to be prone to massive vomiting bouts in the morning, middle of the day, evening and even over night. Any tips at all for survival?

Also have a toddler and a job. Not sure how to hold this all together! 🤦‍♀️

I feel for you, this was me a few years ago. Ice cold apple juice helped me get through the days!

thaisweetchill · 23/03/2023 19:45

Frequently eating ginger biscuits or rich tea in my case

BritishDesiGirl · 23/03/2023 19:46

Ice lollies, orange juice. Sour sweets.

NapoliTutti · 23/03/2023 19:47

there are anti morning sickness tablets, go to the doctor and get them, its 2023 its perfectly safe. Do not suffer for no reason. Dont be fobbed off either. If men had morning sickness you’d be able to buy tablets at the petrol station…

WannabeSlimSally · 23/03/2023 20:04

Bananas. No idea why but kept the vomit and nausea at bay for an hour or so.

Screwedupworld · 23/03/2023 20:06

Aww I feel so much for you. A few things that helped me - Orange juice, sour sweets (prego pops, sour Chewits), white bread (I only usually eat brown) salted crackers, ice lollies

newtolineofduty · 23/03/2023 20:23

The anti-sickness wristbands (£4 on Amazon) really helped me! X

Bananabreakfast123 · 23/03/2023 20:49

Apple juice, sour sweets, rich tea biscuits. Also had anti-sickness tablets from the doctor.

Hard lemon sweets to suck on, chewing gum and very cold cloudy lemonade. That's all that worked for me!

2021mumma · 23/03/2023 22:20

Two different antisick meds from the doctors

Makingamess4212 · 23/03/2023 22:26

Anti nausea tablets from the doctors, and a little bit of lucozade through-out the day to try and keep my energy up (I couldn't get food down).

anna2101 · 24/03/2023 14:04

Just eating something non stop - tiny tiny bites but constantly. It feels counterintuitive and taking the first bite might feel mehhhh but it's the only time I personally feel better.

anna2101 · 24/03/2023 14:05

Also yes I will second constantly sipping on apple juice - the sour kind that's usually cloudy

ChristmasSirens · 24/03/2023 15:30

Thanks all, this is really helpful. Such good tips, I will try them.

The apple j juice thing sounds good, the only worry is the sudden drop in blood sugar after something sweet seems to bring the nausea back on.

Thanks for this. As it happened I saw the obstetrician today anyway, told her I couldn’t keep much down and how much I was vomiting (mostly bile) and she immediately prescribed something. Cross your fingers for me 🤞I feel totally done in!

Thanks yes, will keep trying to snack even though the list of things I no longer feel like is getting longer as I see most of them back up!!

@ChristmasSirens did whatever the dr prescribe work? I've got horrendous morning sickness but always get put off by tablets due to them being harmful to baby etc! I've been doing the juice but I find that gives me bad heartburn which then ends up in a vomit marathon 🤢🥴

ChristmasSirens · 31/03/2023 17:42

@Puddinandpie don’t suffer in silence

The doc prescribed me cyclizine, which is super-safe and it’s worked really well for me. She also recommended daily omeprazole to reduce reflux acid. It has been incredibly effective. It took a couple of days but I’ve gone from barely functioning and vomiting 40+ times a day to manageable nausea and no vomits most days.
