Hi all,

I am due to see Austin at St George's and Shennan at St Thomas' to discuss pregnancy after a 21 week loss and early losses.
I have done a lot of research and read Shennans MAVRIC study and I want to go for a TAC.

I also have a connective tissue disorder which directly affects my cervix so I'm 99% sure I have an incompetent cervix.

Can anyone share experience and treatment received from either consultants?

Hey! @DanaSa101

I know you posted this a few months back but just wondering if you had been to see Shennan and what it was like, what was discussed?

I am having counselling for a loss at 19 weeks and Shennans details were provided to me.

Hope it all went well for you

thanks in advance! X

Hiya,

I was there on the 5th of May. He said he thinks mine was related to infection and he'd monitor me closely in my second trimester and provide a stitch if necessary + progesterone. Pretty standard approach tbh. He didn't physically check me which was disappointing but still, he heard my history and still feels confident 🤷🏻‍♀️

Do you have a post mortem if your loss?

@DanaSa101

Are you based in London then, so it would be easy for him to keep an eye on you?

Nope, we didnt want to go down that route for many reasons. I have my debrief end of June, at the moment things point to a cervix issue (but that could change dependant on my results/what is discussed)

Did you have a debrief at the hospital, do they think infection too?

Are you pregnant or is this just the plan for when you are? Sorry for all the questions.

I had progesterone which didnt help me but if things followed the same path as before id need a stitch early on, like 12 weeks and it seems they tend to do them later. I just dont fancy an argument, id rather a plan in place as opposed to begging when the time comes (if that kinda makes sense) x
