Booking appointment - telephone appointment?

Has anyone else had their booking appointment via telephone? Don't they have to take bloods?
I will be having it at 7w3d so a bit earlier than I expected but that is fine. Just surprised it's by telephone. It is the full appointment as they've told me to allow an hour.

I won't be receiving notes this time either as I've been told they've gone paperless, so I need to download an app. The hospital also have a separate app that I'll need...
What is wrong with folders!

@Hooverthestairs yeah i think they should take bloods; I am looking forward to mine for that reason precisely. If they don't take them then, when will they? Yes I heard the notes moves from physical paper ones to an app. I have no problem with this last bit

I wouldn't mind the notes if it didn't mean having 2 different apps with 2 things on, it's just a faff but not the end of the world.

Maybe they'll book with my local GP to do my bloods. I'm sure if yours hasn't said its telephone, then they'll see you. Hardly any NHS services in my area have gone back to face to face since COVID. Even GPs will still do a telephone appt before then saying can you come in later in the day (taking up 2 appointments instead of one).

I had this and the app 🙄 I did have to nip in for a quick appointment a few weeks later to have my blood taken though. I think they’re still saying it’s on the phone due to covid but I don’t really know what difference it makes if you’re going in to get blood taken anyway and then go in for normal appointments later on

Yeah my booking appointment was an hour on the phone and I use an app called Badger Notes. I went in 2 weeks after phone call and had bloods, height and weight done then was back for my 12 week scan. My 16 week check up was also done over the phone so be prepared maybe for that too x

Thanks this is really helpful to know, when I had my DD 4 years ago everything was still in person. Slightly worried about not having the face to face contact and support as we have had to have fertility help to get pregnant. Do they not look for baby's heart beat at the 16 week appt now then?

They might where your from, I'm in Scotland and my healthboard don't listen until later on. I had a house visit too for my 22 week check x

All of mine have been in person and midwife checked heartbeat at 16 weeks. My trust is still using paper notes though so I think it just varies
