Are people testing regularly? I haven’t tested at all this pregnancy but someone who I saw 6 days ago has tested positive today.

what’s the deal with this now? Is it dangerous for us pregnant women?

im 21 weeks and a bit worried xx

I booked in for a Covid booster once I knew I was pregnant and when I have had a cold, I’ve tested.

My midwife said to stay in touch with them if I do get it, as pregnant women can quickly deteriorate so best to keep an eye on it.

There is no evidence to say pregnant women are any more at risk or vulnerable to covid at all. Neither are unborn or new born babies. Most people are treating it as just a cold now, I don’t know of anyone who still tests. Obviously if you do test positive you won’t be able to attend hospital appointments but otherwise you are fine to carry on as normal.

This is my attitude really but wasn’t sure??? My midwife hasn’t really mentioned it either except in my first appt when she told me the covid jab was safe but other than that she hasn’t mentioned it???

@Theirmumxx unfortunately there’s still a lot of scaremongering that goes on with pregnant women. I had my second baby during lockdown so the height of covid. Even then the midwives weren’t worried or saying pregnant women are more at risk. I worked in a public facing retail position all through the pregnancy too. If I was at risk I’d have been signed off

I had Covid around a year ago when I was 4 months pregnant. My daughter is now perfectly healthy 7 month old 🥰

Covid infection is more dangerous in your third trimester of pregnancy and some women have to have their babies delivered early (sometimes prematurely) if the covid is affecting their breathing.
However if you've had your covid vaccines you should be fine, just contact your midwife if you do catch covid as it can give some women blood clots and you may qualify for blood thinners
