20 weeks pregnant & my back is fucked

At the end of last year I woke one day with excruciating lower back pain. I was off work for several weeks & diagnosed as having completely twisted my left Sacroiliac joint. Saw a Physio, given exercises to do, pain went, I was back to 90% normality, still struggled a little bit but got my life back.

Yesterday I woke up & my back had gone. I was in agony. The pain is whenever I move, or sit. It's so much worse this time as I am really, really struggling to walk. Last time, once I had managed to get up & push through the pain, walking was as normal. Currently my DH is having to help me up off the sofa, hold my arm as I walk, lower me on to the loo (poor sod honestly) etc. I saw a Physio today who said he thinks it's the same issue as before but clearly worse this time. He's given me exercises to do & will review in a week. He says my core is totally lax & I need to try & build this up with the exercises.

I went to bed at 6pm because what else is there to do, I literally cannot do anything & lying on my side is the only time it doesn't hurt. I'm not sure I can wait a week to see the Physio again, although I appreciate I need a few days for these exercises to hopefully allow me to walk pain free & like I've not shit myself again.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I'm also worried about this affecting the baby & as I have an anterior placenta I don't feel movements hardly at all anyway for reassurance. Thanks for reading my pity post :-(

Didn't want to read and run, no experience other than sciatica, but hope it eases up for you, would a support band help at all? As said, no experience, but just wondered. Sounds really tough

@annlee3817 Thank you for reading. I'm going to contact the midwife today but highly doubt they'll be able to do a lot but worth an ask x

I have anky spon which affects my sacroiliac joints, so a similar sort of issue - but frankly yours sounds seriously painful. I'm coming up to 18 weeks and have found that my back is worse when I'm not wearing supportive trousers (I.e. tight gym leggings) so I'm going to order myself a belly band. I found one that is safe to sleep in. I think this along with the strengthening exercises might help you. Sorry you're going through this.

@LBF2020 would you mind letting me know which belly band this is please? I hope you feel better soon! X

@starclucks I was going to get this for sleep https://babymoov.co.uk/products/dream-belt-pregnancy-wearable-sleep-support?pos=1&&sid=2d158d801&ss=r

And then a more supportive for day time uk.bbhugme.com/products/pregnancy-support-belt?variant=

There are some cheaper alternatives on Amazon which might be worth trying first to see if they help first.
