Elective c section on a bank holiday?

I’m to be induced or have a section between 37 - 38 weeks. On 38 weeks is a bank holiday Monday. Obviously, I would like to keep the baby in for as long as possible (safely).

Do hospitals do elective c sections or inductions on bank holidays? Please excuse my ignorance on how hospitals work, I am sure the poor midwives are working year round!

My hospital only did electives Monday - Thursday. I can't say for other hospitals but I've heard of a few others which are similar.

I work on surgical ward and we wuldnt electively do surgeries in BH the staffing isnt as good(not saying unsafe) but if theres a choice then no
every trust would be different but i wuld personally refuse if it was elective and by choice

Thanks @J1290, much appreciated. Can I ask do you do electives over the weekend?

I went in for an induction on Xmas day but I'd assume it would vary from hospital to hospital.

Inductions yes, elective sections almost certainly no. In every Labour ward I have worked on there are no elective sections over the weekends or bank holidays (NHS labour wards)

Thanks all your answers are very appreciated. I always like to be as prepared as possible before going into a consultancy appointment. Otherwise I panic and just go with anything.
