Baby measuring small at 14 weeks

Hello!

I had my ‘12 week NHS scan’ on 14/2 and was told I measured at 12+3 days. I had a private scan yesterday 25/2 as I wanted to take my MIL to see and the sonographer told me everything looked ok but I was measuring around 13+3 (when I was meant to be 14 weeks). I received my report through and a lot of the individual measurements (the ratios in particular) seem to be way off. My EFW is only 72kg which is abnormally low apparently. Same with AC and FL. I’ve attached the report for more info.

Has anyone had results like this that have gone on to be ok? I’m so nervous! Thanks

@Mans1991 this is my first baby so honestly I don’t have much of an idea, but I had a scan today where they did the centiles and she said anything between the 5th to the 95th are all in normal range, so looks like all of your individually are within range? Saying that she measured my FL twice, once put me on the 86th centiles and the 2nd the 50th so massive difference! Was your scan rushed at all so the measurements weren’t as accurate as they could be? X

I was going to say similar - I am no professional but your ranges seem normal. The EFW has an error of plus or minus 11g and the measurements underneath all fit in with the timing range. I reckon it’s just a different way of reporting measurements but obviously also speak with your midwife if you’re worried!

Thanks so much ladies. Midwife said nothing to worry about touch wood x

If any one of these measurements is off by even a mm then it effects the overall calculation.
At the moment if there were 100 babies lined up of similar gestation yours would be 13th biggest.
AC is apparently the most accurate & important measurement.
FL can be way off. Generally they only worry if a baby drops off it's personal growth line so at your next scan if growth is consistent but EFW is still 13% they'll be entirely happy with that.

Hi , I'm new on here , I've got my 14 weeks scan at liverpool womens hospital, I'm excited but nervous at the same time.
If you dont mind me asking how much we're you nhs baby scan photos , my sister in law said she got one free and duplicates were few pound but cant remember the actual price x

Hi! Similar happened to me so I was wondering if everything was OK?

ActDottie · 18/12/2023 23:26

I had a private scan tell me I was 71st percentile, then nhs one said 98th percentile. I queried with the consultant why there was such a difference and she said in the private sector they use different data to the nhs so always go by the nhs one… not sure if that’s true but it’s what she told me.

Scans in general can be really inaccurate as well for measuring baby. I’ve been told I’m having a big baby and they’ll induce me at 39 weeks but tbh I probably won’t accept their offer because scans are known for being inaccurate by I think +/- 15-20%.

@Mans1991 @Katherina02837 hi ladies I’m in a similar boat right now. How things turn out for you?

NightSkyWanderer · 24/01/2024 23:09

@Mans1991 hi op, I can identify with you.
I had a scan at 13w and baby was only measuring 12+2 . Hoping baby has a growth spurt by next scan.
I had a brief scan today and baby was fine but they didn't measure. It creates so much anxiety dosent it
