Hi everyone,

I really appreciate you taking the time to read this...

I got my bfp a few days ago and was obviously over the moon (vfl at 10dpo and then more clear and confirmed with a digi at 11dpo).

Because I'm a poas addict, I decided I would (stupidly) test everyday to see the line progression... 12dpo was stronger, then lighter at 13dpo (all taken with fmu after even limiting drink the evening before). I panicked about the lighter line and took another test yesterday evening, which was very similar to my test at 12dpo. This morning the test is perhaps a tiny bit lighter again, but certainly not darker. So, my tests between 12-14dpo haven't changed - no line progression at all. I've obviously obsessively googled this and I know what this means and have accepted it (as much as I can right now)...

Anyway, I guess more than anything, my question is - anyone who has experienced a chemical before and doesn't mind talking about it (I'm so sorry for anyone's losses) - how long did it take after you realised you were having a chemical for you to bleed? I really hate being in limbo now... I just want to start bleeding so that we can start trying again and so that I can let go of this tiny glimmer of false hope that I have.

Thank you so much for reading. x

Sorry to hear @HannahLouD its really disappointing to get that positive only to see it fade so quickly afterwards.

I had a CP last cycle and it took me eight days from my first negative test to start bleeding, which was a bit rubbish as it felt like a weird limbo period.

I caught on the very next cycle and I’m now between six and seven weeks with what I hope it a stickier baby! So there does seem to be some truth that you’re more fertile after a CP - hope the same goes for you :)

Sorry to hear about your cp :( but really happy for you that you got pregnant again so quickly and got everything crossed it's a sticky one this time!!
8 days after your first negative... That's ages! 😶 That must have been so horrible for you to have to wait that long :( Mine aren't even completely negative yet (roughly the same as my test was at 10dpo atm). I hope I don't have over a week more to wait... I'd be 6 weeks along at that point if it had have stuck :(

I love hearing people's success stories after chemicals and it does seem to be the case that people fall again straight after but I don't want to set that expectation or I feel like I'll be so disheartened if it doesn't happen again straight away. It only took us two cycles for this one so I'm cautiously optimistic it won't take too long again 🤞

I guess it's all just a waiting game now... Just didn't know how long to leave it before getting concerned I wasn't going to bleed 🙈x

I lost my baby through chemical pregnancy 2 days after testing positive and for me it was just the cramps (felt like normal like ah my period is coming) and then bled. I got pregnant again a few weeks later and am now 24 weeks and with this pregnancy I was testing every other day if not every day and it was a similar pattern to yours. Hope all works out well xx

I’m so sorry about your CP. I had one in October at just over 5 weeks then another CP in November at 5 weeks then in December got my third bfp in a row and am now 14+2 weeks pregnant so in my case it definitely made me more fertile. My first CP was on cycle 5 ttc #2.

Thank you everyone for your replies... It means a lot!
I started bleeding on Tuesday morning and I think it's starting to slow down now 🤞
It's good to know that people seem to be able to fall again very quickly after a cp, but knowing that just makes me feel even more anxious that it won't happen and I feel like I'll be so disappointed if it doesn't. I've also read a lot of positive stories after cps but a lot of people also seem to have more than one in a row... The anxiety I feel right now is awful. I'm excited to start trying again, but I feel like it's going to be so much more stressful now and so much less exciting if/when I get another bfp... x

Good you didn’t have to wait too long @HannahLouD and hope you’re feeling ok.

Totally understand your feelings but try not to put too much pressure on yourself - it seems to happen the next cycle for a lot of people, but apparently you’re more fertile for the next three cycles so you’ve got some time!

Something also worth noting is you might ovulate at a slightly different time - I ovulated about a week later than usual (I don’t track ovulation so I’d be having a lot of sex the week previously thinking that was my fertile window) and so the sesh I think we fell pregnant was just sex for pleasure rather than baby-making!

Good luck to you :)
