Yellowish spotting

Sorry if TMI but for the last week or so when I wipe my discharge is appearing as a slight yellow tinge on the toilet paper. Not super obvious but unfortunately I’ve got into the habit of analysing every wipe after experiencing a few weeks of spotting.

It dries white in my underwear. I know they say yellow can be a sign of infection but as I have no other symptoms of infection, and it’s such a mild yellow I don’t think it’s this.

has anyone else experienced this? I’m 11 weeks

I’ve had this through most of my pregnancy (now 38+4). I have been swabbed a couple of times by the midwife to check for infection and both times came back clear. Probably best to check with your midwife but for me it just seems my discharge is slightly yellow! And can be completely normal 😊

@Cdoc thank you :) v reassuring to hear! Were you just swabbed at a regular appointment or did you have to book this in as an additional thing? I have my 12 week scan next Tuesday but I’m not sure they’d do it then. Then next appointment isn’t until 28th March

It’s totally normal to have a light yellow, white or clear discharge during pregnancy. Your body creates extra discharge to stop any infections. As long as there is no itching, burning, irritation or offensive odour then it sounds completely normal.

@Lhdale no worries 😊I text the midwife and asked if she would swab me the first time, I literally just slotted in between her clinic appointments, did the swab and left ( she text me the results when they came back). The second time was during a routine midwife appointment as I had one coming up anyway. She told me thrush can be quite common and persistent in pregnancy so I just wanted to rule it out. Worth giving her a call and asking just to be sure
