Have you ever been pregnant from pull out method

🚨My question is have you or anyone you know actually been pregnant from pull out method❓
Like experienced pull out method users that know for a fact he pulled out and the only explanation would be precum. I’ve heard there is only a 4% chance pre ejaculation causes pregnancy, not sure how true that is. Any of you ever been a part of that 4%?

My boyfriend and I regularly use the pull out method. Please no judgment I’m 24 years old I’m aware it’s not an effective contraceptive. We’ve been doing this for two years now and he is always very careful. He pulls out every time and even multiple times just to be extra careful. We usually always avoid sex when its ovulation week. I track my ovulation but it’s been a crazy busy month and I’d forgot. I just checked it and realized it was this week.
We did the deed on Sunday and today(Friday), both during my week of ovulation. Sunday was
3 days before my ovulation day(Wednesday) and today was 2 days post ovulation.
Are my chance of getting pregnant still unlikely?

I would say the best thing now is to test, noone can give you definitive answer. However with my experience it never happened, but then I can only talk about partners who don't produce precum at all. Normally if man can control himself well, would definitely feel if something went wrong and tell you. All my 3 pregnancies happened with full ejaculation inside. Period can be late for many reasons, just test for peace of mind.

Moni81 · 11/02/2023 05:10

Sorry I thought you are already late...so don't worry ahead. If anything happened that would be right before ovulation, 2 days after it's already too late...but then it's hard to tell exact day of ovulation unless monitored closely with tests, temp etc. Next time you stress yourself too much and think something may have happened take morning after pill.

ChloeN · 11/02/2023 08:03

I mean I know lots of people that have but that never happened to me, we also did it for 2 years, and didn’t avoid ovulation days at all, never any pregnancies. I then worried we would have problems concieving but it happened first time so he must of been good at pulling out😂 We would of been fine with getting pregnant at any point though, so tbh I never really worried about it. I’d try not to stress it’s probably unlikely to have happened xx

firsttimelondonmummy · 11/02/2023 08:12

We used the pull out method with success for months before not pulling out one night and I’m now 21 weeks pregnant 😂 (we couldn’t be happier though and can’t wait to hopefully welcome our first DS).

You sound like you are pretty careful with it but I’d test in a couple of weeks if you haven’t got your period.

Dinosaurpoopy · 11/02/2023 11:23

Yep 3 times 🤦‍♀️ don't know why I trusted him again! Not the end of the world for us though and very happy with our family

Midlifecrisisat38 · 25/12/2023 20:23

I have. The most traumatic thing ever. Don't ever do it if you don't want a baby.
My neighbour has as well. So she says.

Midlifecrisisat38 · 25/12/2023 20:24

And with me he did not ejaculate and wasn't even close. Hardly had any precum, either.

As476 · 25/12/2023 20:25

Twice. And once was on the pill 🙃.

Gcsunnyside23 · 25/12/2023 20:39

My friend did and she was as meticulous as you sound. I got pregnant on the pill which is even lower chances. But to point out 4% will get pregnant if it's done perfectly but in reality it's really hard to do perfectly so 22% is the actual figure of people that get pregnant with this method

LordEmsworth · 25/12/2023 20:43

If you don't want to get pregnant, but can't be bothered to use an effective contraceptive, then what response do you expect? If you are knowingly using an ineffective method of contraception, then you must know you might get pregnant

whada · 25/12/2023 20:43

Yes. Just the once 😊

BishyBarnyBee · 25/12/2023 20:46

Why on earth would anyone trust that method?

4 in 100, on average, will get pregnant. That doesn't mean if you have sex using this method 25 times you will definitely get pregnant, but you really shouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised if you did.

It's utterly irrelevant whether random strangers on here "got away with it" or not. That's not how statistics work. Unless you and your boyfriend secretly want children, you are taking a ridiculous, foolish and totally unnecessary risk.

3orstickto2 · 25/12/2023 20:46

Nope. Used this method for years. Only been pregnant twice (planned and trying) x

Sweethearte · 25/12/2023 20:46

No, exDH was v careful, i was v regular, and we didnt get pregnant during the few years we relied on this. Contrast to getting pregnant despite a condom and no clue anything had gone awry!?

BUT, it wouldnt have been the end of the world if i had in that scenario, def wouldnt rely on it if not ok with another baby

I was really hoping this thread had been revived for the birth announcement

Tontostitis · 25/12/2023 21:04

Yes, a son and born whilst I was at uni and when we decided to start trying for his sister I was already 6 weeks pregnant. I can't take the pill or have a coil so we used a cap and pull out. Result 2 children by the time I was 23. Apparently I am super fertile, I was sterilised at 29. It is not an effective means of contraception for some of us.

HermioneWeasley · 25/12/2023 21:11

Why on Earth aren’t you using contraception (at least 2 methods) if you don’t want a pregnancy?

MargotBamborough · 25/12/2023 21:16

I think bloody loads of women have got pregnant from the withdrawal method having unprotected sex.

Squirrel25 · 25/12/2023 21:17

Yes, she is now 5 years old!

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 25/12/2023 21:19

My friends baby was conceived this way

ValkyrieAssassin · 25/12/2023 21:19

Things is- all this tracking and timing and angst. Why not just use proper contraception if you do not want a pregnancy?

The withdrawal method is not that effective.

You're not necessarily super fertile. You were just using not very effective methods of contraception- the cap even with spermicide isn't great and pull out isn't really a form of contraception.

People always blame being super fertile on contraception failure but if you really look into it, most didn't use the contraception as prescribed or used a method with a high failure rate.
