As above, I'm 37+4 and my DP has tested positive for covid this evening.

I saw my cousin on Friday and she tested positive Sunday. We also saw MIL Saturday and she tested positive Monday. He sat 1m away from her on the big sofa and I was across the room but hugged her as we left.

I am supposed to have my last growth scan on Friday for baby that is estimated to weigh around 10lbs at that time if she stays on the same trajectory.. And for a sweep. I'm also booked in for induction on 17th, so 10 (nearly 9) days away.

I'm really upset. I'm having an awful pregnancy so far and I'm worried about going into labour whilst covid positive and how this will impact my care or birth. If my DP could even come. Will baby get it. I'm going to have to likely cancel my scan right? As I anticipate likely testing positive before Friday. We are just so near the end and it wasn't necessarily going to be plain sailing anyway but I'm worrying about what extra possible complications this can pose.

I've read there's an increase risk or stillbirth, I appreciate this is really rare but still an awful thing to read.

Does anyone have any advice, or have been in a similar situation? If I'm covid negative on Friday do I still go to my apt?

I didn’t realise anyone still tested for covid, it’s pretty much fizzled out into just a cold where I am. Ring your midwife and see what their advice is as it depends by area. There’s no increased risk to you or baby linked to covid so don’t worry about that. Babies and young children have actually been known to be more resistant to it

As long as he isn’t sick and it’s a matter of just testing positive there is no rules I believe now on isolation. It’s a bit like the flu or a cold - you’ll prob be fine and don’t have to declare covid ?

You should speak to your midwife/maternity unit and the ultrasound department for advice. It is different depending on which trust you come under and will also be dependent on your individual circumstances.

Sorry to hear you're worried and have had a rough pregnancy. I'd check with your hospital to be honest, my hospital is still making everyone (pregnant women and their partners) test for Covid prior to any scans/appointments and are re-scheduling if someone tested positive. Definitely let your midwife know and hopefully she can ease some of your fears! Hope all goes well😊

I gave birth with COVID, I barely noticed it in labour, and no one attending me was the slightest bit bothered.

My husband then got it, and I had quite a snotty newborn for a week or so but everything was fine!
