So desperate for a glass of wine!

I am coming up 38 weeks and I am so desperate to get this baby out of me so I can have a glass of bloody wine!

For some reason I'm really craving some cold rose right now and I'd usually have a glass or so on a Friday or Saturday night to unwind for the week (obviously not during pregnancy!)

No point to this post, just a moan that I want some wine and if this baby could please evacuate that would be great 😂

At 38 weeks you're basically home and hosed. Nothing bad will result from you having a glass of wine at this point.

Ihaveawonderfulpartner · 03/02/2023 19:22

Nah. Don't do it. You've come this far and nothing tastes as delicious as that glass you have when you have delivered a baby knowing you did all you could do.

scrivette · 03/02/2023 19:25

Have one and enjoy it. You might be too tired to appreciate it fully once baby arrives!

Have a glass. And don't feel guilty!

Please don’t drink alcohol during pregnancy on the basis of comments from randoms on the internet. At least have a google about the impact on the baby.

As to drinks, I recommend you try a rich dark red grape juice or pomegranate juice, poured over wine 👌

@Kalpatra

you do realise that to OP you are also just another random on the internet?!

why would she listen to you above the many other posters who are saying a glass would be fine??

@Ihaveawonderfulpartner

sanctimonious much?

PurBal · 03/02/2023 19:52

Have one of you want one

LuckySantangelo35 · 03/02/2023 19:52

quietnightmare · 03/02/2023 19:17

You've come this far don't bother and then once your baby is here having some will feel so much better

@quietnightmare

did you miss the bit in her op where she said she was really fancying one??

she is still a person not just a host to a baby.

she should bother if she wants to cos she fancies it and the risk of any harm is so minuscule at this stage, probs similar to getting in a car (well actually thinking about it that would probs be much, much riskier)

Mydogatemypurse · 03/02/2023 18:56

Blackcurrent... the shweeps one with soda took my cravings away. Delicious

@Mydogatemypurse

that would taste nothing like red wine though

musicalgymball · 03/02/2023 20:00

Sending psychic vibes to your baby to hurry up and be born...

I hope this does the trick Wink

febbabies2023 · 03/02/2023 20:21

@musicalgymball thank you, I hope it does the trick too 😂

I had the wine all, it's only a glass and the temptation was too much this time
She seems to like it too, kicking away 🥰

It's that or the chicken nuggets and chips from the chip shop but I'm going to believe it's the wine 👀

Maybe some alcohol free wine, to fool your taste buds it's real?

FlowerArranger · 03/02/2023 20:26

I hope you enjoyed it, and don't let anyone make you feel bad.

Sallyh87 · 03/02/2023 20:33

Hope it was delicious 😋

Ive packed a tiny bottle in my hospital bag. I’m sure the nurses will think I have a problem. I don’t care!

I am very much craving a lot of very strong espresso coffee. I am a bit of a caffeine addict and 200mg is not doing it for me!

LuckySantangelo35 · 03/02/2023 20:34

Hope you enjoyed it op 😀

MrsMikeDrop · 03/02/2023 20:34

It's fine to have a small glass

postcardpuffin · 03/02/2023 20:36

Perfectly fine to have one small glass of wine! I had one once a week after the first trimester.

febbabies2023 · 03/02/2023 21:01

@Sallyh87 I have also considered doing this to be fair, I think it's more common than we probably think!

I'm still sipping it, drinking it slowly and enjoying it

I've been lucky enough that my taste and smell etc haven't been affected this time! My little boy it was a different story and i wouldn't have been able to stomach it anyway 😂

I felt your OP so much. It’s the one thing I really miss during pregnancy, which I appreciate makes me sound like a right wino but actually I miss all alcohol 😂

I won’t bother having any because I don’t just want one 🤷‍♀️

BabyB2022 · 03/02/2023 21:30

I am also 38 weeks and I cannot wait for a glass of red wine. I will definitely enjoy a glass once baby is here!

Haha, I had a glass of prosecco on my birthday and the bubbles went straight to her legs. My stomach was rolling.

Good luck for this last little bit and a safe arrival ❤️

quietnightmare · 03/02/2023 22:04

@LuckySantangelo35
What a reaction 🤣 clearly you missed the part where I was merely suggesting hanging off for a higher enjoyment afterwards 🙄
