Reduced movement - handhold

Not sure if I'll get any replies as it's pretty late. I'm 34 weeks pregnant and have not felt my baby move in hours. I know what you're all going to say. Go to the hospital. I can't until morning. I have my child and my partner is away at work. He's a lorry driver. I've called up and ask if I can bring my child but they've said no and if I come they can't allow me on the ward with her. I have to wait until morning when I can drop her at school then I'll be on my way there. I have literally no one else. I've been crying as I'm so scared that something is really wrong. I can't sleep, all I keep thinking about is worst case scenario. Please don't tell me to go to the hospital now. I literally can't. If I could I would go. I just need a handhold until morning.

Sorry this is so worrying. Is there another school parent you can contact first thing who can do breakfast and school run?

StartupRepair · 03/02/2023 05:46

Glad there was a little roll and hope you have had some sleep. Can you swap numbers with neighbours or school mums just for the next few weeks if your husband is still driving?

PurBal · 03/02/2023 05:50

I’m so sorry to read this. I agree with PP about it being completely unreasonable they won’t let children in. There are any number of serious reasons (not pregnancy related) why you might need emergency medical care, are they seriously telling you you’d be turned away because you have a child?! That’s nuts.

I hope you’re getting some rest and I agree with PP about baby moving less vigorously at the end. The roll is a good sign. But you need to go in, you know you do.

Please report this too. Refusing care goes against all the advice, is really dangerous and potentially life threatening.

How awful! What a horrible night you must have had. Hope bubs woke up and all is well now .... I had a similar scare and words can't describe how you feel. Sending big hugs.

I’m 28 weeks pregnant and have had to attend the local birth centre because of reduced movements too, and my anxiety was through the roof. Didn’t help the Doppler was low on battery and kept cutting out.

I also have a 7 year old daughter so know how hard it can be to balance the two sometimes.

I’m so glad you’ve felt baby do a roll, I’ll check back in later to see how you are, thinking of you and massive hand hold ❤️

Morning everyone. Woke up to a foot in my side and I've got some rib pain today as well. Feeling a bit uneasy that he went so long without moving so I'm still going to get checked out, just getting my daughter ready for school and I'll be on my way to the hospital after that.

Oh you poor thing! Anxiety is horrible, especially when you're pregnant.
I hope little one is perfectly fine Flowers

I hope all is well . Can you get contact numbers from a couple of class Mums who would be ok if you have any nighttime problems in the future.
People really dont mind being contacted in a genuine emergency at any time .
Good luck for today 💐

Just been taken off the monitor. Baby seems all good. Just waiting for a dr to come and talk to me, still got this pain in my right side. My mums coming back today so in the case of an emergency with baby. I should be able to get some childcare. Thank you all for keeping me company last night and being so kind

Even if you have limited movements tomorrow go back
Go back every day if you need to
Even if everything was ok the day before
